My dearest supporters,
While I am working hard on the next update (currently implementing new UI elements for offspring expansion ^^) I wanted to show you how Wegild's design looked like in the past.
As I mentioned in the previous Back2Past Devdiary (available here) my idea for the game is quite old, and the first Wegild designs are from circa 2021.
As is usual in long-term projects, the design changed over the years.

As you can see on this 2021 draft (which is one of the first 64x64 canvas size designs) I used a quite different color palette (and had quite a few problems with anatomy :P) What is also interesting, is that initially Wegild was supposed to wield a spear in the game. However, due to a change of heart and problems with my animating technique at that time, it was abandoned in favor of an Axe.

The Design you see here is from December 2021/January 2022 (a couple months newer than the one I have shown you earlier).
Interestingly, this design sports a one-handed axe, which is vastly different that a 2 handed one currently wielded by Wegild. The game was supposed to support Wegild drawing and sheathing her weapon, however, due to the amount of sprite variations for all of the various animations it would take, the idea was abandoned.
