Build of the day for 29.9.2022

0.5.10 release was last week so we've started working on the next release, which I'm going to call 0.6.0. Planning thread about that is here: https://forum.revolutionarygamesstudio.com/t/0-6-0-release-planning/957 The reason why I'm calling it 0.6.0 is just to round out this year (planned to be released in early December) and mark the fact that we'll have a roadmap to follow starting next year towards microbe stage completion. This next release will be the last one where there's really no planned features put in the milestone, starting with 0.6.1 I'll start trying to nudge people to work on roadmap items by putting them in the release milestones.

I already got started working on a few things (as can be seen in the build notes). Mostly some usability and bug fixing. Now it should no longer be possible (or at least as easy) for mods to crash the game on startup meaning you couldn't disable them. I also added a popup warning people that mods need to be enabled, as I've seen multiple comments over time about people who were confused about that. Contributions from other people have definitely gotten much more quiet now than what it was a month or two ago, so I guess we'll see how much stuff there is in 0.6.0. Especially considering that I plan on working on getting the launcher 2.0 done in time for that release. The new launcher will be mostly the same as before but made with different technology and updated all around. One major thing I'm thinking of is small new features like the launcher auto restarting Thrive to take advantage of the new safe mode start, or allowing Thrive to request a restart (for example when changing mods).

Next week I plan on working on a few more random small fixes for Thrive and properly getting into the launcher development again (I had to take a break due to the 0.5.10 release and doing the ruby to C# scripts conversion which took a lot of time), so don't be surprised if I'm able to share some new launcher screenshots next week. But it'll take probably closer to 3 or 4 weeks before the new launcher is complete enough that I'd share some test builds for curious people to try it out.

In this build:

- Added safe mode start up after Thrive crashed before managing to

  start fully. Safe mode can disable all mods and video playing

- Starting with no mods enabled but having installed mods now shows a heads up notifying that mods need to be enabled first before they work

- Saving being unavailable in some prototypes now has the warning

  about that shown correctly when manually making a save in

  the later editors

- Updated translations
