I LOVE that it wasn't an ideal coming out scene. It was refreshing. Of course, a father like Burt wouldn't have been so completely accepting, but the fact that he made it clear he loves Kurt no matter what. It felt grounded and realistic but still a little unserious and comedic. Burt and Kurt remained two of my favorite characters for the whole show (and I still think its funny and a little ridiculous that they made their names rhyme)

2024-07-07 11:16:18 +0000 UTCI was so excited when I saw this episode was up as it’s one of my favorites of the series. And yes Puck is a regular but his character grows a lot of depth. You have to separate the actor from the character as they are not the same at all. I love Pucks character, he’s one of those who covers insecurities and wanting to be loved with gruffness and snark. One of my favorite characters ❤️ Looking forward to the next episode!

2024-07-02 04:09:19 +0000 UTCI think Quinn and Puck's whole storyline is a little dark. Yes, Quinn is my favorite character throughout the show, and I will defend her. However, I will admit she is not a good person. She does make the show entertaining, though. Getting back to Quinn and Puck, that whole thing throws me off a little because she said that he got her drunk, which is a little iffy cause it makes the entire thing look like she didn't give a full consensual, yes, yk? So I see it as an SA storyline that Glee unforgettably didn't think thoroughly through because her words could mean a lot, or it could be nothing.

2024-06-27 07:07:52 +0000 UTCI was laughing the whole episode at you hating on Burt (Kurt's dad), as he is one of my absolute favourite characters on the show. He's amazing, you'll come to see that over the show. It might also interest you to know that his actor, Mike O'Malley, was one of the head writers on Shameless. And the relationship between Kurt and his dad is heavily inspired by Ryan Murphy's (one of the show creators and main writers) own relationship with his father and the coming out scene specifically was written to mirror his own experience coming out to his father. Burt grows a lot, I think you'll come to really love him. Quinn's pregnancy storyline is one of the wildest season 1 stories, I'm looking forward to your commentary as it evolves. It's still early days, you've barely scratched the surface of the insanity that is Glee. I hope your allergies get sorted soon, feel better!

2024-06-27 07:06:48 +0000 UTCThe blonde cheerleader dancing with Kurt at the beginning was a background dancer for Beyoncé and was brought in to teach the dance to the cast and ended up with a role on the show. The actor who plays Kurt wasn’t out either when this was filmed. He didn’t come from one of the most accepting of towns and was worrying himself about how being on this show would pressure him to come out.

And this episode marked the first (very brief) appearance of the recurring character played by my friend Bill, who I did community theater with literally decades ago. He plays the news anchor on the TV station where Sue makes her commentary.
