oaf I have another cateGORY as well, "horror-rom-com": "shaun of the dead", "warm bodies" & "tucker and dale vs evil" to name a few. I think you might really enjoy those movies.

2025-01-24 15:26:17 +0000 UTCOh no! You watched the version without the stairs scene! 😂 by far one of the creepiest scenes. That’s the version I grew up seeing, somewhere along the way it started getting cut out of newer releases? 🤷♂️

2025-01-07 04:57:57 +0000 UTCI'll suggest the Original 1973 version of The Wicker Man. It's atmospheric and really strange with a twist at the end. It's best to watch it late April since it takes place in the spring and Mayday( May 1st) is a big deal in the movie. This is just a suggestion Amber I'm not going to freak out or get upset if you don't or won't 😊 Anyways Thanks Amber

2025-01-04 05:15:30 +0000 UTCAlso the terrifier series is a lot of fun “art the clown” has become another horror icon. Smile and Smile 2, also for Asian horror the “sadness”, and “train to busan” is heartbreaking but scary good. Also “talk to me” (scary) “sissy” “influencer” and “The Angry Black Girl and Her Monster“, "bodies, bodies, bodies"… ok I’ll stop now

2025-01-03 17:32:39 +0000 UTC2024 was a good year for horror definitely check out “In a violent nature” for some cool slasher content or “the substance” for how Hollywood treats their aging stars … “shudder” is also a good horror movie streaming channel

2025-01-03 17:25:08 +0000 UTCA lot of the members working on the film view the movie as being a cursed film as strange events took place while filming the movie such as numerous accidents, injuries ( Bothe Linda Blair and Ellen Burstyn suffered severe back injuries.), and even nine deaths of cast members and family during filming. A fire destroyed the house except for Regan's room. It got so weird on set that Father Thomas Bermingham, a consultant on the film was asked to perform an exorcism. While some say the movie and the set was cursed others say it was a coincidence Horror Movie Suggestions Alien (1979) Rosemary's Baby (1969) Night of the living Dead (1968) Evil Dead II (1987) and Army of Darkness (1992) The Fly (1987) The Mist (2007) Let Me In (2010) Frankenstein (1931) and Bride of Frankenstein (1937) Bubba Ho-Tep (2002) This ones a comedy/horror but really worth watching

2025-01-03 04:52:00 +0000 UTCAmber, I think the Exorcist scares a lot of people because most people have a Christian/religious background or are believers, so they tend to think of it as being more based in reality than other horror genre fare. I myself have never found it to be as scary as people make out out to be - they tend to overhype it - but it doesn't matter; it's still an amazing horror film for so many reasons. And you're right, Linda Blair was excellent in it, and did such a fantastic job at such a young age. On a semi-related note to the overhyped thing, a similar situation happened in 2024 with the film "Longlegs" - people were hyping it like it was the scariest thing ever and it's just not. It IS an incredible film though and one of my top 3 horror genre films of 2024. You should definitely react to it sometime soon because I think you would really enjoy the Criminal Minds-type, FBI crime solving elements/figuring things out part of it. It is a film that really requires mental attention while also being open to multiple interpretations, as well as also just being creepy as hell and unnerving. Anyway, as for you being exposed to horror films at such a young age, that's probably why you now love horror films. I had the same type of exposure when I was young, and have been a lifelong horror film fan ever since my first "trauma" at a young age. My irresponsible uncle who was supposed to be babysitting me decided to take me on his date with a lady neighbor so that he didn't have to be stuck at home alone bored with me. He took us to the drive-in to see The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (with another film called "Deranged" as a double feature), and I was terrified but couldn't stop myself from watching the films through my fingers. The experience totally traumatized me, but it must have been "positive" trauma, because I became obsessed with horror films and sneaking into scary movies after that. Been a huge horror movie junkie ever since. Because of that first exposure, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre will always hold a special place in my heart as it was the movie that first scarred/scared me...lol. I also think it's scarier than The Exorcist if I'm being honest, as I think many other films are as well. Anyway, I can't wait to see you react to way more horror films on your channel. I have pretty extensive knowledge when it comes to the horror genre, so if you ever need any recommendations, just let me know. You said below responding to another commenter that you want "HORRIFYING" recommendations, but I think I need more clarification. I can definitely recommend horrifying films, but I need to know exactly what you mean by "horrifying" first - Psychological? Body Horror? Supernatural? Human monsters? Undead? More movies with creepy kids like Esther from Orphan? That movie DOES rule by the way...I love that movie. Another REALLY excellent acting job done by a younger girl. Anyway, let me know. :)

I’m digging the horror journey you’re going on and definitely appreciate your mom for introducing you to some good horror movies as well. I did the same thing with my daughter at an early age and now all we do is recommend horror movies and of course heavy music to each other. Metal and Horror go hand in hand lol

2025-01-03 02:35:31 +0000 UTCAmityville Horror, the original movie in 1979 was my favorite, The remake in 2005 was also good. Based on the true story of the Lutz family who BRIEFLY lived in this house in Amityville, NY.

2025-01-02 03:05:36 +0000 UTCI said it was the last scary movie I watched. But I guess my category is a little strange. I did watch the first Jaws. My little sister threw her 32 oz coke in the air at one point and soaked me. I'm also watching Stranger Things with Amber. But I never watched any of the Halloween or any of the slasher movies. Or any of the popular Horror movies. I don't feel any loss having not seen them. :-)

2025-01-02 01:44:49 +0000 UTCI like the director's cut that includes the spider crawl, too. It was included in the book but did not make it into the movie's original release.

2025-01-02 00:45:19 +0000 UTCanother piece of trivia: I don't know if you have seen the 80s vampire movie The Lost Boys, but the star of that, Jason Patric, is the son of the late Jason Miller who played Father Karras. Also, Max von Sydow, who played the elderly priest, was only in his early 40s; they did a great makeup job making him seem so old; you'll eventually see him in Game of Thrones almost 50 years later!

2025-01-01 21:12:23 +0000 UTCOh wow! Horror YES, and more please🥰 The Exorcist isn't just scary/shocking. It's a really well made film that wraps you up into investing in the characters and is ultimately a tragedy. Would love for you to do "What Lies Beneath"

2025-01-01 21:05:25 +0000 UTCThe thing about Exorcist is that if you're Christian/Catholic it's real. It's not a make believe ghost or a boogie man, it can and has happened. I'm not particularly a believer but my mom was and she was horrified of The Exorcist.

2025-01-01 19:13:40 +0000 UTCI'm a psychic/medium and I do makeup/special effects for horror movies. Very little scares me, but Ouija boards freak me out! Even more than the exorcist. It got me good back in the 70s, I lived lessening about the makeup and effects.

2025-01-01 09:03:21 +0000 UTCYes!!! The slasher films too are so great at building ultimate suspense.
Drewcliff82
2025-01-01 08:15:27 +0000 UTCI think a lot of the latter-day horror movies focused more on the graphic violence which became gratuitous at times instead of creating suspense. For example, in “Jaws” we don’t see the shark for the first hour. Yet the sight and sounds of people being dragged underwater by this unseen leviathan are more terrifying than seeing the shark chomping on some someone.

2025-01-01 06:54:40 +0000 UTCI think the fact that they used pea soup for the puke makes it even worse for me. 😂🤣😅😂😂

2025-01-01 06:01:38 +0000 UTCThis was the last scary movie I had watched. I saw it my senior year in high school. Maybe 1973 or 1974. I can't believe I watched it again. Actually, for most of the time I put my hands over the part of the computer screen that had the movie and watched you react. I now remember why I don't watch scary moves. You took it much better than I did.

2025-01-01 04:17:37 +0000 UTCAmber is one of my favorite reactors because she doesn’t just dance to music or laugh or cry during movies or television shows. She really feels it. It’s genuine. It’s passionate. I’m not going to comment on Jay out of respect. I just know that Amber’s sincerity always comes across and this no doubt is why so many people love her and enjoy her commentary. Kindred spirits. She gets it.

2025-01-01 03:56:43 +0000 UTCDuring the 1990s I worked in the video store business. I loved it. So many great memories and stories from those days. One of the most frequently asked questions I got was, “What’s a good scary movie?” I would recommend this one to anyone who had not seen it. It’s still scary all these years later. Partially because it’s based on a true story, however, in real-life it was a boy, not a girl who was possessed. The title track “Tubular Bells” is very chilling and haunts me to this day.
Sweetish_Jeff_25
2025-01-01 03:56:38 +0000 UTCI read The Shining when I was 8. I saw the movie when I was 9. My mom took me! Lol! I saw The Exorcist when I was an adult. It kind of made me laugh. 🤷🏻♀️ I think those pills were nitroglycerin. My grandpa used to take them for pain in his heart. I think you let them dissolve under your tongue. Crazy fact: About a year after the movie came out Linda Blair (Regan) started dating the singer Rick Springfield. She was 15 and he was 25! Can you imagine?? They are still friends. She is 65 and he is (obviously) 75.

2025-01-01 01:29:58 +0000 UTCThis movie was based on a true story. The priest originally involved says that the himself has seen bottles of holy water fly across the room without being thrown. This movie reveals a true and present evil in our world. On a side note, the girl, Linda Blair, was not the person playing the part when the girl was possessed. They had an adult actress play those parts, as they were concerned about putting a young girl through that. Given that you enjoyed this, some others you might enjoy: The Omen Amityville Horror (1979) The Skeleton Key (hit or miss with some folks A few other movies that I really wanted you to watch before, but didn't are: Deep Impact Fifth Element Gladiator Sleepy Hollow Stargate (and then watch the tv series SG-1) I'm also thinking that you might like the tv Supernatural. It's 15 seasons, but IMO, the first 5 are the best. So you could start with those. Also the tv series Battlestar Galactica (start with the miniseries, 2003). It's series and at times dark, and a wild ride.
