Somehow this didn't get added to your collections playlist. It jumped straight to The Avengers and I realize something was missing so I popped back here so I can watch them in order. Also, the other Thor.

2025-01-05 14:34:58 +0000 UTCAnthony Hopkins played Odin. He also played Hannibal Lecter in Silence of the Lambs. Jane was played by Natalie Portman, who also played Padmé Amidala, the mother of Luke Skywalker, and Princess Leia in Star Wars. The assistant was Kat Dennings from Two Broke Girls. You'll love Dr. Strange!

2025-01-05 04:54:47 +0000 UTCHi Amber, I'm thoroughly enjoying rewatching these movies with you. I understand how much you love mythology, but I don't want you to miss anything and I've noticed that you do sometimes miss plot points or important information when you speak over the character's dialogue and then later ask about something that was already explained. Regardless, I look forward to your MCU journey with Captain America next. I'm about to watch it.

2025-01-04 21:03:52 +0000 UTCThor, the God of Thunder from Norse mythology, is with us every Thursday (Thor's Day)! For Arthurian legend, I am partial to Excalibur (1981). It does jump around, takes some liberties and is a bit graphic, but the legends jump around as well. It's an excellent looking movie with lots of great Shakesperean actors popping in. I hope you watch it at some point. What you saw at Disneyworld was Excalibur (from Disney's The Sword in the Stone). Nicol Willamson (Merlin) and Helen Mirren (Morgana Le Fay) had previously been a couple before this movie, and there was supposedly quite a bit of bitterness between them during filming. It makes their scenes together in the move that much more interesting knowing this and may explain why they decided to pronounce their incantations differently.

2025-01-04 04:12:30 +0000 UTCFor Arthur, I'm partial to Excalibur myself. It is a bit haphazardly put together, but I just love the look and vibe of the movie.

2025-01-04 03:55:04 +0000 UTCWe miossed the Easter eggs the first time through as well. We didn't understand why he repeated what Loki said. You're right on track; keep enjoying the ride

2025-01-04 02:50:37 +0000 UTCI've a fondness for all mythology, not limited to Greek. Every culture has a pantheon. I loved this movie because of the mythological strings, the same as you Amber. There's just something about them. Tales, fables, mythology. I'm a book nerd of the highest order. I started studying Greek and Roman first at around 8 years old. I was hooked. I began inhaling any mythology books I could get my hands on. I was quite partial to The Fates; Clotho, Lachesis, and Atropos as well as The Furies; Alecto, Tisiphone, and Megaera. They all wielded so much power over life and death. Both sets of sisters are individually interesting while collectively being terrifying. This is a weird one but there is a "romance" author who weaves mythology into her series'; Sherrilyn Kenyon. The Dark Hunter series to start with. She has MANY books within many, many different series' all based upon mythology. Give it a shot, I have zero doubts that you will love them.
Rowan
2025-01-04 02:48:08 +0000 UTCFavourite Greek myth since you asked- I always loved Perseus best. Not did he create Pegasus, but the fight with the gorgons using the reflective shield is great. But I also love Odysseus vs the cyclops, and Theseus in the Minotaur maze. Too many to pick from.

2025-01-03 19:56:02 +0000 UTCI love that you’re so into fantasy and mythology. Marvel's Thor is based on the Norse God Thor. Norse and Greek mythology have some similarities but are both vastly different. The Greek gods were immortal and generally distinguished themselves from humans, considering themselves superior. Their interference in human lives, results in both good and bad consequences. In contrast, the Norse gods were mortals with more human traits. As a result of their close relationship with humans, they are more closely intertwined with human struggles. Consequently their relationship with humans is often more tragic. Some Cinematic suggestions Vikings (2013 TV series) while rooted in reality, the show doesn’t deny the existence of Norse Gods but instead you get a glimpse of how their religion and belief shape Viking society and their view of the world around them. Merlin (1998, Two-part TV miniseries) This film is my personal favorite Arthurian legend film adaptation. There are more elements of fantasy, fairytale, and magic in this adaptation of Arthurian legend than most other adaptations. Effects and cinematography are especially impressive for 90s TV series.

2025-01-03 18:30:21 +0000 UTCLoki is literally my fav villain, he's a complex character for sure. The more you watch, he just grows on you.

2025-01-03 06:12:28 +0000 UTCLove “Clash of the Titans”. See my previous comment above. ☺️
Sweetish_Jeff_25
2025-01-03 06:10:50 +0000 UTC“Clash of the Titans” (1981) was my introduction to Greek mythology. Loved that movie as a kid. I prefer it over the remake from 2010.
Sweetish_Jeff_25
2025-01-03 06:09:29 +0000 UTCAs a kid I loved stories of Athena and Medusa
Shaynge
2025-01-03 01:59:14 +0000 UTCWhen they called Sif “Xena” they were referring to Xena Warrior Princess, a show from the mid\late 90s. It’s campy but a ton of fun, since you like Greek mythology you’d probably like it!

2025-01-02 21:54:42 +0000 UTCAgreed, I don’t want to get into it too deep until after Ragnarok to avoid spoilers, but he’s my favorite MCU character because his arc is so amazing.

2025-01-02 15:34:32 +0000 UTCOh man that's on the list now lol. I've read several of her vampire books (obviously including Interview With a Vampire) and I really enjoyed them all so easy decision. Thank you for the reccomemdation.

2025-01-02 11:01:37 +0000 UTCI loved how Anne Rice included Babylonian mythology into The Servent of the Bones.

2025-01-02 08:24:21 +0000 UTCShe needs one of those thingys that go on your Mic to control volume fluctuations. Idk much about them but I've heard several YouTubers talk about them and noticed the difference when u use them. Then she can turn the movie volume up a little, you will be able to hear her and the sound won't blow the speaker out when she has an excited reaction (Which are my favorite kind lol).
Drewcliff82
2025-01-02 07:18:03 +0000 UTCYes!!!! Both that and "Troy" as well.
Drewcliff82
2025-01-02 07:12:38 +0000 UTCYes he was so good in Good Will Hunting.
Drewcliff82
2025-01-02 07:10:43 +0000 UTCYou stole my words 😂🤣😅. That was my take after this movie is I thought it was far better than the 3 before it. Iron Man is dope but I connect more with this or Captain America bc of my love of history and mythology. I think you will probably like Captain America as much as this. Of all of the ones so far, Iron Man 2 is my least favorite.
Drewcliff82
2025-01-02 06:54:10 +0000 UTCI loved how they used Selvig (who, played by Stellan Skarsgard - father of Bill Skarsgard who played Pennywise the Clown in IT is actually from Sweden) to pick up on the mythological background of Thor. Just as a heads up. I know they do the secret scenes at the end of these early movies, but somewhere along the way, they started doing two secret scenes in the after credits. - one midway through and one all the way at the end - I think in these early ones it's just one secret scene at the very end. Also, the sword in the stone you are thinking of at Disney is from the movie Sword in the Stone about a young Kind Arthur.
Mary Merry Berry
2025-01-02 04:56:36 +0000 UTCLoki was manipulating what Selvig was saying because he can, being the trickster god and more importantly, he wants to hone the power in that object too, for obvious reasons That item will be the main focus for the next two movies, including the avengers

2025-01-02 04:35:59 +0000 UTCJust a thought for a future movie watch. When I was heavy into Greek Mythology, a movie I watched that I really liked was the 1981 (Clash of the Titans) Check it out. Lots of Mythology characters in it.
Tray-T
2025-01-02 04:35:29 +0000 UTCAs far as the Greek Mythology I enjoy it, but I'm more into Babylonian, Persian and Egyptian mythology. Ireland has some very interesting mythology history as well. I really love the Babylonian stuff though. You should check out the 'Anunnaki Bible" or "Babylonian Genesis" by Alex Heidel. Marduk's story is my favorite in all of mythology. He was one of their most important dieties .
Drewcliff82
2025-01-02 04:18:59 +0000 UTCYes the actress Kat Dennings is from the series "2 Broke Girls" as well as several movies such as this one and 40 Year Old Virgin (Hilarious).

2025-01-02 04:09:56 +0000 UTCThanks for this! Super cool comparison to Hagrid
Amber Walker
2025-01-02 03:39:05 +0000 UTCI have seen so many comments about people liking Loki!
Amber Walker
2025-01-02 03:29:19 +0000 UTCSince you recognized Kat Dennings from 2 broke Girls, i can't believe you didn't recognize Natalie Portman from star wars (Anakin's wife) and especially Anthony Hopkins from the Silence of the Lambs
Karl Kraus
2025-01-02 03:23:42 +0000 UTCThe way Thor speaks, there's a reason why It sounds Shakespearean right? Well, the director for this is Kenneth Branagh, who is a veteran in theater, especially Shakespeare, particularly Henry V and King Lear i believe He brought about that feel to the dialogue you hear
Karl Kraus
2025-01-02 03:15:16 +0000 UTCHi I was hoping someone could help me. I had got into the Breaking Bad series again on the YT & when heard I could get the full length versions, & full season drop, I followed the link provided but only see season 1 & 2. I got the gold membership, are there other levels? Patreon’s kinda new for me. Any help much appreciated. No big deal, I’m just enjoying the reactions & have way too much time to kill, lol. 2025-01-02 03:13:10 +0000 UTCBest villian in the MCU!
Melody Netherton
2025-01-02 03:12:51 +0000 UTCLoki is my favorite too! I always felt he was the most sympathetic villian. He just wanted to be his brothers equal never realising they already saw him that way. He is a great example of low self image leading you down the wrong path.
Melody Netherton
2025-01-02 03:10:58 +0000 UTCDarcy was played by Kat Dennings and you were wondering where you had seen her. She was in the show, 'Two Broker Girls'.
BlueEyedRaven
2025-01-02 03:09:32 +0000 UTCI just remember when the first trailer came out and they used “Immigrant Song” by Led Zeppelin and thinking “this is so badass!” Hammer of the gods…🤘 The cool thing about the MCU movies of the last 10-15 years is they vindicated Stan Lee who was having financial difficulties. In the early 1990s, James Cameron was going to direct a Spider Man movie with Leonardo DiCaprio in the title role. Jack Nicholson was going to be Green Goblin and Arnold Schwarzenegger was going to be Dr. Octopus. That never came to pass and a few years later we got the Tobey Maguire version.
Sweetish_Jeff_25
2025-01-02 02:43:46 +0000 UTCThe actress that plays Jane Foster was also Padmé/Queen Amídala from the Star Wars prequels
Jeff
2025-01-02 02:37:11 +0000 UTCThor (2011) is still my favorite MCU film, followed by 2008 Ironman. MCU became just overloaded with spectacle, silly comedy and such over just good dialogue mid Phase 2. I miss the feeling of the early MCU films. Thor and Iron Man are my favorites by far, with Thor being No 1. I really loved how much you enjoyed this film, Amber. It was nice sitting here with you watching it and seeing the wonder in your eyes. 1:17:30 No "name" but the guys are known as the Warriors Three and Sif is well, Sif. :)
Tim
2025-01-02 02:36:52 +0000 UTCBy the way Amber, i want to tell you that i can't hear you speak when the movie has noisy scenes going in I'd love to hear you and your thoughts during those times Thank you
Karl Kraus
2025-01-02 02:29:52 +0000 UTCLoki is a fun, complex character. You’ll hate him, love him, and pity him, I think. Chris Hemsworth is quite funny, and this is one of the best character introduction films imo.
Kristen DePizzo
2025-01-02 02:25:13 +0000 UTCOne more stop on the roundup of Avengers for the big finale for this phase! I'm excited to see it through with you watching This was a great one at the time of release but now has since been dwarfed by other outings but definitely up there with Iron Man
Karl Kraus
2025-01-02 02:23:35 +0000 UTCThor is my favorite Avenger, Loki is my favorite baddie, so I am READY for this one. Despite the fact they did Chris Hemsworth so dirty with those weird bleached eyebrows in the first Thor movie.
Jenny Anckorn
2025-01-02 02:12:00 +0000 UTCAlso wanted to add Dr. Donald Blake is Thor's secret idenity in the comics and you've already met the scientist working on Gamma radiation in Hulk Selvig was refering too. ;)
Melody Netherton
2025-01-02 02:02:42 +0000 UTCThe guy with the bow and arrow is Hawkeye. (an Avenger)
David Berrios
2025-01-02 01:42:44 +0000 UTCThis is my second favorite marvel film so I'm so excited for you to see it. Since you asked for background on the Warriors 3 this little comic nerd is at your service! Volstagg(red beard) is almost indestructable and in the comics can grow in size hence the food obsession. He is very much like Hagrid in that he has a special relationship with Animals and once got in troble over his pet dragon wrecking the palace. Lady Sif- Trained by both Amazons and Asgardians. She has black hair here because when she and Thor got together (many years before this)Loki was jealous and used magic to cut her blond locks it has been black ever since. Fandral(the blond)-said to be the greatest swordsman in the nine realm and has a reputation as a womanizer. He also claims to be Robin hood supposidly when he was on a trip to earth. Also thanks for listening about the cut scenes!

2025-01-02 00:58:07 +0000 UTCOh yeah! One of my favorite Marvel movies. Love these, they're such fun. Hopefully you're watching all the way until the end for the extra scenes and we just don't see it!! Thank you Amber! ❤️. I think Hades and Persephone is my favorite of the Greek Mythology tales. Of the Norse..... Definitely Thor, Odin and Loki!!!! ❤️❤️❤️

2025-01-02 00:53:30 +0000 UTCJason & The Argonauts. Awesome Greek Myth story.
David Berrios
2025-01-02 00:52:41 +0000 UTCMy favorite greek myth is Cupid and Psyche. This is the mythology of my peeps. Went to Norway this summer. Was divine. Loki doesn't get bigger because he was undersized. That's why Laufey abandoned him. And you know how I told you I liked Jaime Lannister? I adore Loki. js. lol
