September 2022 Update

hello, please stand by

Economics is a complex and fascinating field of study that explores how  societies allocate limited resources to satisfy unlimited wants and  needs. It encompasses a wide range of topics, from microeconomics, which  focuses on the behavior of individuals and firms, to macroeconomics,  which examines the performance of entire economies. In this essay, we  will delve into the fundamental concepts, theories, and applications of  economics, and discuss how it influences our daily lives and shapes the world we live in.

Yeah I get you. I think the game needs to feel "important" for the press to cover it. This is a purely subjective feeling. I am confident I will be able to hit that target. Taiji could have done a better job at that, but it started in a harder place, because of its pixel graphics and (on the surface) derivative gameplay.

I'm not sure the standard review:sales ranges apply since Taiji was largely ignored by the gaming press (it doesn't even have any critic reviews on metacritic) but of course you can find out the actual number if you're curious! But my larger point of sadness was how the game was ignored by the gaming press. Not a single traditional outlet covered it to my knowledge.

I could ask Matthew about Taiji sales, but since it has 424 reviews on Steam I would assume it has at about 20000 to 30000 sales. Anyway yeah I am aware of these issues, and I will do my best to make sure the game doesn't go unnoticed!

The indie game I was referring to was Taiji. I do not doubt that any trailer for Miegakure will get circulation from the games media. But games media also has high turnover, so I wonder how many people there have been following the game since the beginning. The press is still largely interesting in generating ad revenue rather than uncovering innovation - I still find it obscene that Stephen's Sausage Roll has under 1000 reviews on Steam; some of the press covered it but by sales alone they clearly didn't sell the virtues of the game enough.
