I saw Hadestown completely blind. I was in New York for a few days and had the chance to see a Broadway show and a friend of mine reccomended Hadestown. To this day it has stayed with me and I am so excited when I get to enjoy other people experiencing it for the first time.

Lots of covers of traditional songs with all these voices (and very good as a result). Could be a nice breather between shows?

Hadestown is, by FAR, my favorite musical so I'm very excited and the wait between reactions might drive me a little insane AHAHA I promise I'm very normal about this musical. I have so much trivia packed away in my head about this musical I can't wait to share it. And I do highly recommend that you should see if you can find someone you trust to find you high quality no spoiler images of the cast and stage. The stage itself is gorgeous and is doing so much with so little. And while the animatics are trying, the whole effect of everyone in costume is lost. The chorus is all in dark greys and blacks, jackets and plaid and beat up shirts and jeans. It really makes it feel like "times are hard". And Hermes' blue suit alone is a work of art in my opinion. And, since you're working from animatics rather than a stage recording (I'm not forever bitter that there isn't one), would you like to know more about the choreography you're missing? This show has some truly amazing choreography that its a real shame to miss but I don't want to spoil it if its something you plan to look up in your own time.
