But worlds lasts for about a month before all the other teams from different regions get eliminated, this is only the grand finals. The last time a non-asian team made the grand finals, was G2 esports in 2019 from Europe. Technically a European team won worlds once only the very first time but is wasnt really an actual world championship yet. I dont even know if Asia was competing then tbh.

2024-05-30 23:07:31 +0000 UTCIt was only upon watching this a second time for me to catch on the irony of the World's theme, "Burn It All Down" being set in the Councilor Room. Between that and the Get Jinxed video with Jinx flying rockets into Piltover, Riot really be wanting to spoil us so early on the Arcane finale. I wouldn't doubt them sneaking in something for the promo material this year for S2, I'll be going through everything pixel by pixel.

They had it actually planed as an srage show with the stage being parts of P&Z (actually there is a good chance they will recycle this idea in a way for this years Worlds in London๐). Then covid made its entrance and they had to come up with an other approach in a ridiculous short time (for such an event). There is a short documentary about it. If you wanna have a watch let me know. ๐ Gosh I love Pvris! Pretty sure we will have them in season 2 as well.

Korean players usually dominate the League esports scene, but not all the finalists have been asian, so there's definitely a variety of players at the professional level! It's here that I might mention the name "Faker" - he's probably the the esports world's Michael Jordan, but for his success in League World's Championships in this past decade. He's won World's 4 times, a feat no one else comes close to. You'll be seeing that name pop up more often when we get into the esports playlist. ;)
