Suffocation is supposedly one of the most excruciating ways to go, whereas being exploded happens so quickly that your brain isn’t even capable of processing it before you’re gone. No pain, no time to feel anxious or scared.

2024-06-08 19:24:28 +0000 UTCFun fact: if you go back and watch the episodes in Zao Fu, you can see Kuvira hanging out in the background a few times. She was one of the women in the center of the dance routine Su was choreographing. There’s also a newspaper article with a picture of Kuvira’s face. And she was the guard Su had tasked with finding Zaheer’s group and checking the tunnels under Aiwei’s house. I kinda like how they slowly introduced this character who would end up saving the avatar’s father by the end of the season. It’s just some fun little Easter eggs to find on a rewatch!

2024-06-07 22:20:03 +0000 UTCIt’s interesting because I think the implication with Bolin’s arc this season is that a lavabender can’t also be a metalbender. But we know from Katara that a bloodbender can also be a healer. Then we only have two examples of combustionbenders, and no way of knowing whether or not they can possibly bend lightning. And we only have one character each for the airbending subsets (not counting Guru Laghima since we never actually meet him as a character), so it’s impossible to know if a true flyer could also possibly project their spirit, or vice versa.
