My favourite story is that of GODS though - it follows Deft, who actually went to highschool with Faker and they debuted in pro league in the same year. But Deft always stumbled in the quarter or semi finals on previous attempts, while Faker won 3 championships in the span of 10 years (He even has a 4th one now). So you can see him in the video looking up to faker One-upping him and doing bigger and better things. You see iconic moments at previous tournaments where he was knocket out - facing Rekkles' kennen (the lightning yordle and showmakers Syndra (the champion with the purple balls) the guy who blocks for him with the braum shield was his then- teammate Keria, but unfortunately it was still not enough to win that game. Then he gets picked up with his new team DRX, for 2022: they show their road to the grandfinals (finally) as he uses Draven and Varus, and then he ends up facing his old teammate, Keria, who's now Fakers teammate on T1. He picked Caitlyn in the very last game in the series to win the championship so that is why he has caits rifle at the end. Faker comes in almost ruining it for him playing... well you'll find out who that is actually

The best ones that come to mind for me are Rise, Take over and GODS in terms of the visual storytelling. Take Take Over, the protagonist (who i think is supposed to be anyone, not some specific player) has to take on all these legends of the game on their most signature champions during their careers. He fails first each time, and has to start over at the first one again, but after he takes them down het gets to carry their weapon with him. But at the end with the final hurdle Tian lee sin (who hard won words in 2019 the year prior) all of his weapons are no use and he has to settle for hand to hand combat to finish the gauntlet

They just bought the rights to use it and for him to perform it at worlds, i think they were probably having trouble finding time for their music team to work on this as well as the Arcane S2 soundtrack. As Alex Seaver is generally also in charge of the worlds songs as well as writing songs for Arcane.

Imo no need to double watch anything ... but other recommendations from his channel would be: (1) How powerful are champions according to lore (2) How old are champions according to lore (3) Official timeline of League of Legends (goes far back and literally ends with the regions you know of from the MMO video) Maybe a follow up after u post the 2022/2024 cinematics: (4) The lore behind The Call cinematic & (5) The lore of "Still here" explained. Titles r pretty much self explanatory, so maybe those are intersting for you. His videos r long and especially the last cinematics got a lot of lore so that would probably be worth it for you since they also got some champion favorites of you in there. People, not just me I'm sure, are happy to watch those and it doesn't matter how long it'll take to post those. Like even 5 months from now after Arcane is fine - much better than never getting any of 'em at least. I wouldn't be here on Patreon if you wouldn't be one of the most empathic and emotional invested LoL reactors out there that are soooo fun to watch (and I probably got to know 100+ of them on YT over the past 5 years). Ofc if you are not interested in those videos that's also fine, but as MasterOfPuppets and others have said: Doesn't matter when content drops, it's just about that it does :p

It remains to be seen if there is enough left in the League tank to get us to the point where women feature more in the pro teams, but there are more at challenger level than ever and the trend is up.

He's by far the best player to ever play the game. He was inducted into the league hall of fame. He's the only one there. Everyone unanimously agreed he should be first. Nobody can agree on who should be second. You should watch the videos about his induction into it, they might give you more context on who he is and just how good he is. My favorite stat is that he was the youngest player at his position to win the world championship at 17, and the oldest player to win a world championship, 10 years later, at 27. The world champion team's players each year gets to design a skin working with Riot for a champion of their choice that they played in that world finals, 1 each, so a set of 5 skins. They get a huge cut (half?) of the worldwide sales for their skin. Faker has 4, plus his hall of fame skin. He's a co-owner of his team. He's considered one of the biggest famous people in South Korea (LoL is HUGE in Korea and China).

The main competition isn't gendered, but since competitive gaming has been socialized as a male activity for so long, there's been few examples of women making it to the top tiers of esports. As there have been more and more women getting into these kind of games lately, some esports have created a women or marginalized genders division in an attempt to change the culture/expectations and inspire younger girls that this is a path for them with the hope that soon there won't be a need for a separate division anymore. Riot is one of the companies that is doing this with their esports - they call the division "Game Changers." They're making a lot more progress with it with their other big game, Valorant, than they are in League. I think it is because Valorant is a much newer game, the way they marketed it and shaped the game's community made it so women were playing it from the start. 2024-07-25 15:31:35 +0000 UTCGenerally the worlds cinematic shows a highly stylized version of what happened in the previous Worlds, for Gods specifically it's following the player "Deft", as he went through 8 years of failure across so many different teams, before in 2022 finally being put on a last place team named DRX where they managed to have by far the craziest comeback story in League history and win worlds. Also the players you see them fighting in the second half of the video are all of his former teammates he had to beat throughout Worlds, culminating in him going against Faker in the world finals who he actually went to highschool with, which is what you see in the first scene.

I remember just putting this song in a loop and listening it non-stop. ✊ I remember when Star Walking was teased everytime with the part, “Don't ever say it's over if I'm breathin' Racin' to the moonlight and I'm speedin'…..” Everyone were like “Omg this sounds so good!”, turns out that was the only part that sounded good 🤣

That Finals was one to remember imo, I'll watch it every so often to remind myself that I'm glad I'm not that good at the game. I'd crack under that amount of stress and focus. The complicated plays executed by both teams was just phenomenal.

2024-07-25 07:17:50 +0000 UTCWhile it's true that Starwalkin got quite a bit of push back on reddit threads, I think that the broader community actually didn't mind it. It grew on me for sure, and my friends who play but don't consume other league content all found it fine. Regarding the World's 2023 animation, it's a really lovely tribute to the winners of 2022, most specifically "Deft," a veteran who got close many times (as seen in the animation) but always fell short. The 2022 Worlds event is often regarded as the best we've ever had, and Deft's team DRX were considered completely outclassed. So many iconic moments led up to their win. Also, he really did go to school with Faker, and league casters will never let you forget it!

These vids are fast cut. Some of the weapons you can only see for a second. Truly amazing. Also a result of Rabbids approach on the order to watch these videos ofc. 👍We decided to skip the ppts for some of the videos as we had about 20 champions in them. It would have been a little too much to cover for you guys... 😉 As you love Pvris you are most likely aware that they had the song "Snakes" in Arcane too (Vi&Jayce fighting the Turbo Chemtanks). But they had another send in that was rejected. It is called "Oil and Water".... 😉

I feel like experiencing the evolution of these events is what makes the following ones more special (also I'm biased for 2018s being my favorite). "We watched one of Necrits videos" - Will we get that as reaction? 👀 "They [Riot] should give him [Faker] some..." - Actually this year Riot released the Hall of Fame which is supposed to be a yearly thing and the first player to be honored there is Faker - He got an Ahri and LeBlanc skin for that event. Star Walkin' was pretty hated by the community since it's the first ever song that didn't get made for the players and LoL specifically. Lyrics like "Been that n* since I came out my mama, thanking god, daddy never wore a condom" give that away (or that's the worst fantasy game line I've ever heard). Fun fact: E-sports is olympic since yesterday! Though I'm not sure what games there will be played since LoL seems pretty complicated to get into compared to shooters or any irl sport where literally any1 can watch and understand what's going on.
