Sync Guidelines
Videos are edited in watch-along style format, so you will need your own copy of the film/show to sync with us.

Pausing and Playing: Follow on-screen countdowns to pause and resume play together with us for a synchronized experience. We tried to minimize any cuts/pauses but just in case you need to re-sync, you can follow the subtitles from the video and sync with your copy.
Dual Monitor Setup: Utilize a dual monitor PC setup for simultaneous viewing of both screens.
Split Screen Viewing: Employ the split-screen function on your device to watch the reaction and your show/movie side by side.
Connectivity Options: Consider Chromecast/screen-sharing or HDMI connection to a TV, allowing for a larger display of one screen while using another device for the reaction video.

2024-08-21 12:40:08 +0000 UTCWith DnD the players each control their character (that's Vox Machina) and the DM controls everyone else around them. How the game goes really comes down to the interaction between the 2, plus dice. Whenever someone decides to DO something, there's a dice roll to see if it succeeds. There are videos on Youtube that show some of the moments of the show and what they were adapted from. Generally if you search Vox Machina origin moments you can find a bunch, though I wouldn't recommend doing that until you're caught up. 2024-08-21 00:46:49 +0000 UTCThe story, except for the first two episodes, is all things Critical Role played out live on stream. When you've finished up season 1 I know there are comparison videos on youtube people could recommend that cut between the show and the original live stream so you can kinda see how things carried over between the two versions! Also for some clarification on the Pike and Everlight scene, Pike thought hanging out with Vox Machina and being "violent and depraved" was what cut her connection. The Everlight corrected her that she cut it off herself because of a misunderstanding. The Everlight didn't have any issues with Pike or her lifestyle. The choice she gave her at the end was simply if she wanted to continue with her temple and be more traditional or with her friends, but both paths can be holy as long as she's a good person. The Everlight is actually a pretty chill goddess overall about letting her people be who they wanna be.

You have the Dungeon Master (DM), also known as a Game Master (GM), who builds the world, creates the non-playable characters (NPCs), and enforces the rules of the game. They can build their campaign or use a pre-made one. Campaigns are pretty much the skeleton of a story, containing all the important characters, settings, and major plot points. But the players fill in the meaty parts. The players create their characters and role-play them in the story. Now, there are A LOT of rules and I don't want to confuse you. But everything is dictated by rolling dice. I think it's easiest to understand by playing. For a very quickie and simple example of DnD, I liked how Deborah Ann Woll described it in her interview with Jon Bernthal. You only need to watch the first 4 min, they start talking about actor stuff in the last half of the video. I like it because Jon has no idea how DnD is played, but Deborah was able to very quickly get Jon to "play." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JpVJZrabMQE&t=147s Actual campaigns are incredibly long (like hundreds of hours), but some one-shot campaigns take only a couple of hours. Here's one with Stephen Colbert, Sam Riegal, Marisha Rey, Ashley Johnson, and Matt Mercer as the DM. Also, just a note, but it seems the last few videos your reactions seem to be .5-1 second ahead of what is happening on the playback. Nothing major, but some shock and awe reactions seek to happen just a tad before it happens on screen.
