RWBY: LIFE AND DEATH - CHAPTER 6

Adam and I faced off on the marble floor of White Fang base. The area was wide enough for us to fight and not hurt others, should they interfere. Cracking his neck, Adam threw off his dark cloak to the side, as he stared at me, his face scrunched up in anger.

He slowly drew his katana from his belt slowly, the blade made a hissing whisper as it was removed from the sheathing.  All the while, Adam was holding me firmly in his gaze.

I was unarmed, my weapon back at my house, but I didn’t need my weapon to fight him, so I was confident in my abilities to defeat him. “I will enjoy teaching you why people avoid fighting me,”

“Don’t hold back or I am going to break you, and I want this to last.” Adam snarled at me.

I snorted, “If you really wish that, who am I to say no,”

“You can’t fight in the base!” a random Faunus shouted, but a simple glare from my part shut him up.

With a smile, I turned my attention back to Adam and said, “Now, where were we?” and with a quick flick of his hand, as if to say. “Come on.” I taunted the little bull.

Adam growled, rushing at me with great speed, and just as he was about to reach me, he slashed his katana downwards, creating an energy cut, before sheathing his blade back, all in one quick motion.  Moving out of the way I dodge the attack, as I proceeded to parry the next few attacks with my bare hands, being careful not to use too much force, I was only deviating his attacks to the side, away from me, all with the palm of my hand, didn’t want Adam using his Deus-ExMachina skill on me, this was not easy, I had to admit, blocking and parrying with my bare hands, made this ordeal all the more difficult, if I had my weapon, things would be different.

But I didn’t fret, I knew his fight style I had seen it before, he had a tempo to everything he did, so predicting his next energy slash, I sidestepped to the right just enough to dodge the charge attack he was saving, “One trick pony, is that what they call you, right?.” I chuckled, punching him in the face, breaking his mask.

“This pony will cut you up!” Adam barked, but before he could back that up, I closed our distance with a single step and swiftly punched Adam in the solar plexus, knocking the wind out of the swordsman, and stunning him for a brief moment.

“I fail to see how,” I grinned, delivering a kick to his face, the hate-filled Faunus was still open for more attacks though and I was far from done. The kick had opened Adam up for another attack and I obliged him, putting a simple sidekick into the swordsman’s stomach, doubling him over. With a smile, I followed that up with a quick rising uppercut, and then as his head was high in the air, a downwards kick with my heel to his head.

The few Faunus watching, let out a collective wince for their hero, some moving to try and help him. But they were simply too scared to do so, so they opted to simply watch and do nothing.

I continued my assault for a while, grabbing his blade arm, with my left hand, as I delivered punch after punch with my right, each hit stronger than the last, all while reading his body language to predict his movements, not that he could do much, without his blade arm free, all he could do was take my abuse, or defeat me in a hand to hand brawl, and that was not going to happen, hit after hit, his aura dropped, as blood splattered across the floor, in close combat he was good, but I was a master, after all, I had trained myself to be the very best at what I did, and his error was to underestimate me.

“This is getting sad,” I muttered, kicking Adam away, “Stay down, I really don’t want to cripple you,” I added.

“Well… I do,” Adam growled, and with a quick move, cut my aura down to Zero as I walked away from him, he had put all of his aura in that attack, I could tell that much. Unfortunately for him, as soon as he broke through my first labor, the next one followed.

“That was a smart move, you waited for me to lower my guard, and broke through my aura with a single attack, but I wonder… now that you don’t have any aura left to defend yourself with, what do you intend to do with my next eleven labors,” I inquired, amused at how things were turning.

“What…” Adam muttered, gasping for air.

“Oh, you didn’t know,” I chuckled, “Oh well, I won’t explain… but I will discipline you, maybe a broken arm will teach you to stay down, maybe breaking both will teach you humility,” I smiled, as I slowly walked towards him.

“Enough, Umber,” Sienna ordered.

“This is a fight between him and me, please do not interfere,” I replied.

“You won, end of the story, now leave,” Sienna said.

“Fine,” I sighed, turning around, satisfied with Adam’s scared body language.

“You don’t want to hurt humans, yet you hurt your own kin?” Sienna hissed as I walked away.

“Human, dog, cat, Grimm, man, woman, or all in between, if you attack me, I will defend myself, that’s called common sense sister, something you seem to be lacking right now, not that I blame you,” I sighed, staring at Adam, “With such company, I hardly blame your actions or responses.”

Sienna sighed, “I will always be here if you ever change your mind, the cause will always need you,”

“Same applies to you sis, if you ever see the wrong of your ways, call me,” I waved, leaving the White Fang, once and for all.
