RWBY: LIFE AND DEATH - CHAPTER 9
Added 2021-08-19 01:39:56 +0000 UTCThe ferry ride was quite bumpy, but it was to be expected with all the waves that crashed with the ferry. Even then, I barely heed any attention to it, I was otherwise occupied eating my feelings away, which funny enough, because I ate so much the chef himself came to congratulate me, so he basically congratulated me for being sad, which in turn made me laugh, so win-win.
Eventually, we arrived at the port where I would disembark to start my new life at Beacon, at the port customer service desk, I grabbed a map and started to walk towards the academy.
According to the map, I was a few miles away from the academy, meaning it would take me at least an hour to get there. “Here goes nothing,” I mumbled, folding the map, and saving it in my pocket.
As I walked through the streets of the city of Vale, it was painfully obvious to see I was getting a few odd stares from the locals, not because I was tall, which would’ve been acceptable, but because I was a Faunus, that much I was certain, especially if the comments they made as I passed by was anything to go by.
Pushing the racist comments aside, I continued to walk without slowing down, ignoring the people around me, not all of them were racist, and some were simply ignoring me like a normal person instead of calling me names.
Besides, there wasn’t much I could do, after all, beating them up would only prove their point. Sighing, I continued to walk, changing my train of thought to one more pleasing. Like, what would I learn in beacon, and what would Blake say when she saw me at Beacon, we never had a close relationship, I barely talked to her, but according to her father she looked up to me and Sienna, and in a way that had to be true, she did quit after I quit.
“Hey, you filthy animal!” A random man shouted as he threw a soda can at my head, “Go back to where you belong!”
At times like this, I couldn’t help but wonder… was stupidity the norm for racist people? I was stronger, faster, and trained to kill, why the heck would anyone throw trash at a man that doubles your size? There have to be easier ways to kill yourself, like jumping out of a building, for example, I am quite sure it would be less painful than whatever I can do to someone.
Grabbing the can he had thrown at me, I looked at him and smiled, “This belongs in the trash,” with that said, I threw the can back at him, breaking the glasses on his face. “Now it is where it belongs,” the man stood there speechless, was he really not waiting for a response?
“I will call the police!” Oh no, there it is, the Karen response.
“Bye~” I waved at him with a smile, as I continued to walk towards Beacon academy ignoring his Karen wails.
My walk came once again to a stop, when I found myself in front of the school borders, at the distance I could appreciate in full the school building, it was big, it almost looked like a victorian castle of some kind, taking the first step, I entered the school grounds, wondering why was the school so empty, wasn’t today the entrance day? I kinda expected more people to be around as if on cue, a new smell entered the area, followed by a violent crash against my back, “Sorry sorry!”
Face on the ground, I wondered who had tackled me, before I stood up to see my unknown attacker, a cute girl, her hair was red, and she wore it in a waist-length ponytail, curled slightly into a loose ringlet. On her eyes, she wore light-green eyeshadow that combined with her already green eyes. “It’s okay,” I chuckled, offering her a hand, “the name is Umber Khan,”
The girl smiled, taking my hand in a handshake, “Pyrrha Nikos,” wow, she looks quite different in real life, the animation sure didn’t honor anyone.
“So, I take it you are in a hurry?” I smiled.
“Yes! I got lost, and well… crashed into you,” Pyrrha muttered, a hint of embarrassment on her face. “Why didn’t you dodge though?” oh so she noticed I didn’t move on purpose.
“I was curious to see who was tackling me, sometimes is a clumsy but cute girl,” I winked, “other times, is a racist guy, either way, I have fun.”
“Ha,” Pyrrha chuckled, “Well good for you it was a cute clumsy girl,”
“I guess,” I snorted, “Well… we better get going right? Don’t want to be late on our first day of school.”
“Well, it’s not the first day… perse, it’s the introduction and stuff,” Pyrrha clarified, “But yes, we can’t be late!” she declared.
“Ok,” I nodded, resuming my walk. This time, with Pyrrha on my side.
“I think we should run,” Pyrrha hummed.
“Why?” I asked with a yawn, should’ve slept on the ferry.
“The introduction starts in thirty minutes,” Pyrrha replied.
“Then why are you walking?” I asked.
“Why are you walking?” Pyrrha asked back.
“Good point,” I nodded.
“Indubitably,” Pyrrha nodded.
“Shall we run?” I smiled.
“I think it would be most appropriate,” Pyrrha nodded.
With that said and done, we started running. Our friendly running eventually turning into a competition to see who would get there first, even though we had no idea where there was, I guess this is what people call the start of a beautiful friendship.
“I WON!” I declared, boastfully.
“IS NOT HERE!” Pyrrha cried out.
“God damn it!” I growled returning to the competition, why did they make a school so big without a fucking map, is that too much to ask? Like, for real, we have guns that shoot lasers, but not google maps of a school is like having cellphones and not toiler paper.
Comments
That ending 🤣
