2018-09-10 22:10:25 +0000 UTCI agree with you that Damon telling Elena to turn it off was a mistake, but I think Stefan should have known better than to leave it up to Damon. Damon has more than once said that being able to turn off your emotions when life gets too hard is one of the benefits of being a vampire. I also want to say, Nina's acting in this episode was phenomenal, but I think my favorite moment was when Damon told Stefan that he wasn't enough of a reason for Elena to keep her emotions on. "She lost her brother. I'm not enough, not this time." I don't know if he was really talking about Elena at that moment. I think he was talking about how he'd feel if he lost Stefan.

2018-09-10 21:20:13 +0000 UTCIf you closely look back a the episodes in season 4 after we found out about the cure. There were hints that Katherine was searching and looking for it. We just didn't know it was her. And she wants the cure to either use against Klaus or to give it to him so she can finally have her freedom from him trying to hunt her down or kill her.
