Oh, and about Lisa. I think Dean likes the IDEA of normal family, like he thinks if he had one, then magically everything would be better for him. This is a case of "grass is greener on the other side".

Cas's voicemail recording is so funny and so Cas! Someday I'm gonna have the same on my phone! Also a bit of trivia: the actress who played Risa in 5x4 "End" episode (tried to slap 2009 Dean) is the wife of Michael Shanks who plays Rob in this episode. They met and married while shooting SG-1.

A little trivia the title "99 Problems" is of course the JayZ song and theirs is a bitch well a whore but also its the shows 99th episode and the 99th thing the boys have "solved" so all tied together!!😎👗👍

Aww my heart breaks for all of them 3. I always felt like there was this understanding between Dean and Lisa that Ben is his son, but that it's best for Ben that Dean isn't his "Dad" because he's a hunter, and neither of them acknowledge it out loud because that allows Dean morally to not be with them. Building off of that, I imagine they're always on Dean's mind as the "could have been", but he stays away from them because that's what's best for them. But this is his goodbye tour and I don't think he would have felt right abandoning them for good without saying goodbye. And I feel so bad for Sammy too. He's trying so hard to hold on for himself, Dean, and Cas when he has nothing left either. My poor babies.

This is a hard episode. Seeing Dean giving up hope and Cas being so down. I don't care much for the part about the town and the Whore of Babylon, but I guess it served a purpose for what the writer and Kripke were trying to tell. The bit with Lisa is frustrating for me. I really like it, but it also makes me mad that we hadn't seen her more over the years. For Kripke to put her in now means something, so why didn't he do it before. My head canon says that Dean has been keeping track of her and Ben - looking out for them to be sure they are okay. I can't recall which episodes they were, but I have seen the Cicero town name a few times in the background over the years. That's where Lisa and Ben live. But still, would have been nice to see them more. And we know that Dean has had feelings for her - remember the episode in season 3 with the dreams where Sam and Dean had to save Bobby. We got to see inside Dean's head and his dreams. Lisa was there.
