I mean, it was said in the episode like a minute before you asked that question. When Mouse entered the room he said: "if you want Kate dead so badly, why don't you just shoot her? I'm sure Tommy will give you the friends and family rate." But Alice said: "So the last thing she sees is his gauze pad and his gun and has no idea what's happening? No. Her betrayal deserves a reckoning." So Alice wants, not to kill Kate, but to kill the Batwoman, in her costume, penetrating that unbreakable armour. Maybe she won't actually go through with killing her sister, but she certainly would want to destroy the symbol of the Bat, because she knows how important it became for Kate to be Batwoman. And how important it is for Gotham to have her. She'll likely wants to do it publicly, with journalists on helicopters broadcasting everything on live TV. Shoot her in the gut, somewhere in the non-lethal area and unmask her. A grand victory! Just shooting Kate is probably nothing compared to what Alice has concocted in her head) Safiyah (pronounced Sa-Fa-Ya) was mentioned before. In episode 1x07, when Julia first appeared. Maybe you remember, she sent a black, bold assassin dude called "The Rifle", he was killing scientists for Alice, and after he killed them all Alice gave him the Coil Accelerator(special gun that Mary's mother's company designed that can penetrate the Bat-suit), but Alice secretly broke the gun and made "The Rifle" kill all the scientist that can fix it. Remember when Julia dressed as Batty to fool Sophie and she was shot, we all though she died, but she didn't because the gun didn't work properly, because Alice did something to it. That was at a time when Alice didn't want to hurt her sister, that was an episode before Alice killed Mary's mom and framed their dad for it and both Jacob and Kate gave up on her. So in the exchange for that Coil Accelerator "the Rifle" gave Alice the magical miracle cure-all. In the next episode(1x08) when both Catherine and Mary were dying from Catherine's company uncurable super poison, Alice offered them this cure, but ony one dose, wich Mary drank and it saved her and it also stayed in her blood. Remember they also used Mary's blood to try and save Beth from different Earth after Crisis, and Vampire Vicki Donovan also tried to steal her blood after Alice said that it contained this cure. Alice mentioned that this universal cure is made from the Desert Rose that only blooms on the island named Coryana. So, now we also seen the name Coryana before. In 1x16, just a couple of eps befor, you should remember, the one where Alice and Kate teamed up to break Mouse out of Arkham, before Kate betrayed her. But early in that episode, Alice returned to her hideout, only to find all of her Wonderland Gang members slaughtered and there was a note, signed by "a friend from Coryana". Now that I refreshed your memory a bit, let's streamline this. Safiyah(Sa-Fa-Ya) from Coryana send her assassin The Rifle to get the bat-killing weapon from Alice in exchange for Desert Rose cure, but Alice double crossed her, and gave her a broken weapon, while still getting the cure, so Safiyah had all of Alice's minions from her gang killed in retribution. And now, Safiyah made a deal with Julia to get Lucious Fox's journal, that also contains information about bat-killing weapon. Safiyah wants to kill the bat, for some reason, she has some sort of history with Alice and she's from the comics, but I don't wanna say anything about that just yet)

2022-02-26 14:08:50 +0000 UTCLooking for a weapon to kill Batwoman would make a whole lot more sense if the villains didn't know her actual identity. Kate walks around all the time in regular clothes. Killing her is easy. It's something that always bothered me with this arc. It seems obvious that Alice doesn't actually want to kill Kate, so I get her going through this. Mouse and Nolan are just stupid though.
