Since I had fallen behind on your reactions, I'll add my thoughts on the twist here. I think there were some janky parts to the whole situation, but I was ok with it. This season went with a murder mystery route where they wanted the audience to follow along the mystery with the characters. However, I do think there should have at least been a couple hints leading to Icicle, the Ultra-Humanite, and Dragon King. It felt more like we had no idea who it was, we had a bunch of suspects that we never believed to be guilty (Cindy, the Crocks, the Shade), and then at the end they just tell us who it was. I will say though that I never really trusted Starman. He got angry all the time, he jumped to conclusions easily, he easily turned to violence with intent to murder, and I think most of his advice and decisions were terrible. I could not really imagine him as a veteran hero with the way he acted. However, I did not predict that he was the Ultra-Humanite at all. Now that the season is over, I will say what my theory had been during the first half of the season. Note that I haven't read any comics, so I didn't know who any of the characters were outside what I had seen in the show. My theory had been that whoever the main villain (my guess had been Mr. Bones) was somehow bringing people back to life, but under his control or maybe they weren't entirely themselves. So I thought that Starman was one of those people and that he might have been working with the villain, regardless if he was aware of it. I think the theory was fueled a bit about all the talk and theorizing about one of the old villains being back as the antagonist.

For me this season was my least favorite of the three but I still really liked it, yes, even the twist. I think what kept it from being better in my mind was how disjointed it felt at times. I know the two episode arc about Helix and Infinity Inc. was intended as setup for future stories, and was likely written and filmed before the cancellation, but knowing how things shook out I think that time could’ve been used to flesh out the UH arc better. It also would’ve been nice to see Courtney in costume more, but once again I understand why the action was kept to a minimum this season. I’m sure any following seasons would’ve been far more action packed. Oh well. A lot of people in the wake of the show finishing up have been speculating about it possibly showing up on HBO or something, and I’m all for it if it does, but if it is well and truly over, then I’m happy with what we got and rate the show very highly.

I feel how they ended the show was in a good way and by doing a ten year time jump we know that the team had many more adventures with the roster getting bigger if got renewed maybe we could have seen what shade said

The only real difference the writers made to the finale after getting word they were cancelled was the 10 year time jump as way to wrap everything up. I feel, however, they left the show open ended enough to finish the last three seasons should they get revived. When Shade is talking about their adventures, it feels those were to be the stories for the last three seasons: Saving Starman in season 4, rescuing the Seven Soldiers in season 5, and defeating Negative Man as the final big bad in season 6. While he is essentially spoiling what happens, while also listing off how all the characters survived and who would join, I don't think that would ruin a potential revival a lot of shows are based around knowing certain characters live and die and are still really enjoyable. Clone Wars being the best example for me. Plus, he doesn't confirm whether Pat and Barbara make it, so there is still a level of suspense. And who knows, maybe they have a kid as an extra bonus to keep some surprises. If the show is by some chance saved, I feel like Season 4 would be intitled "Road Trip" as the characters leave the confines of Blue Valley and travel the world to find Starman's brain. And in doing so, the JSA starts to become global organization once again, as they save people all over the world and recruits the other members that Shade referred to.
