General Update

Normally, I make the Wanton Cove status updates public and reserve the rest for Patrons.  Today, I thought I'd share it with everyone since I have a little personal news to mention as well.  


Wanton Cove:

Took care of a reported bug last time I opened this up, but otherwise haven't done much work on this the last couple of days since we're nearing release of the next build.  The current plan is to have a new build up on the 22nd or 23rd.


Inheritance:

I'm incredibly happy to announce that progress has been steady on this front since the Movement build was released.  The next big thing to go into the game will be the NPC stats, which likely wont be too much trouble, followed by the clothing system which I expect to be pretty simple in comparison.

Been talking with an author about possibly writing some content for this game.  If that happens, any content they write for this would be in addition to what I write for the project.  I'm pretty excited about the idea of having someone else contributing written content to the game.

Rfpnj just played around with the Wait function a bit and got it working correctly.  Its beautiful.  New test build was released at the tester patron level just a little bit ago.  Basically, since many of the randomized scenes in the game are keyed to specific time windows (Day/Night, Dusk/Dawn, Meal Time, etc) the Wait option makes it much easier to seek out those scenes.  There are currently about 150 minor scenes accessible in the game.  Every room in the game has four or more scenes, a least two of which can play out in any given time block.  

The next stage of this project is to finalize the NPC stats and figure out how to use those to affect scenes.  With two very talented coders assisting, I'm hopeful that we'll have that sorted in another month.

The "Events" test build will become available to Patrons the last half of next week, and the "Movement" test build will become available to the public at the same time.


Aftermath:

The new coder who is helping out, I've set them to work on Aftermath.  Mostly this is my way of seeing how things work out with them while getting a project on the back burner ready for production.  Every time I turn around, I'm finding myself pleasantly surprised by their progress.  They're about hip deep in the merchant system that will be appearing in both Aftermath and Inheritance which will allow you to buy goods from a randomized stock from vending machines and merchants.  

This project, once all of the code is in place and ready to go, will be put on hold again until Wanton Cove is complete, . . . after all, I don't want to stretch myself too thin.  Two active projects seeing regular release is my comfort zone.


Other Stuff:

Spent a couple of hours working on a scene for The Therapist by Rfpnj  (Can find a link to their project in our mission statement above.  They've got a recent release out for their project that includes a LOT of new content, including a couple of scenes I wrote for giggles (Glory Hole content in the adult novelty store as well as two therapy sessions for a patient.)


Personal News:

Celebrating my 14th wedding anniversary today.  Some of it has been great, some of it has been pure misery, but overall its been alright.  ;)  I'll be out most of today trying to do something nice for the occasion.

Aftermath Team

A lot of the events are pretty minor, but I wanted to include a good range of ambient content to fill the game and make it feel less empty. I look at what is there as a starting point with the intent to add more. In contrast, every location in Inheritance has four or more events, while Wanton Cove has upwards of thirty in some places. Eventually, I'd love to have 15-20 or more related to each of the girls in addition to a mountain of ambient content. No panties? I was planning to go clothing optional. Granted, their opinion of you is going to be affected by something like that. And as far as the panties is concerned, we've already coded them in such a way that you can either wear them normally, or on your head, . . . A map of the mansion and major locations is something we want to do. At one point, I had someone offer to do a map, but that seems to have fallen through. I have however made a note of it and will look into getting some form of art done for the mansion eventually. Thank you for the well wishes, was a pretty good day.

Glad to hear things are going so well with Inheritance. 150 events is pretty crazy. Usually a feature like that gets added with virtually no content on the start. The clothing system definitely needs the option to have them go without panties. Also if you add more areas to the game you might want to consider displaying a map somewhere on screen to make navigation easier. Happy Anniversary, I hope you had a great time.
