The Allure of Wanton Cove (Mostly) Progress Report

As you all saw earlier, I got a new build up with some fixes. I'm taking the lack of bug reports since then as a good sign. Running down the big one took a lot longer than I had originally anticipated, but at least its fixed. I've still got a long list of spelling errors, grammar issues, and possible improvements to work through, so if you reported something and its not fixed, that means its probably still on my list.
Wrote six smallish scenes for the game today, spanning five areas. Most of them were fairly small, but one of them was kind of middling in size. Not as much progress as I had hoped, but it was still good progress. Most importantly, I had felt like I had a little writers block (Its common when I have a big list of bug fixes to take care of. I know its just psychological, but what can you do?) and the scenes I wrote almost wrote themselves, so I'm feeling really good about getting some writing done in the coming days.
Will be spending next week working on new content for the game with the intent to get testers a new build the first full week or the month.
The goal with this next build will be to include a couple more story driven scenes, as well as start tying up a few loose ends (Finish up a few more NPCs to include Taint/Mutation/Madness flavor text. Write a few more ambient scenes for the game to flesh out the rest of the locations, work through the rest of the bug reports, that kind of thing.) I've still got a LOT to do on the way to version .9, and I want to get it all done over the next two builds, three at the very most.
Aftermath:
Been talking with the rest of my team about this project today. Got a lot going on as we try to organize everything and figure out. The guy who is taking over the coding end of things is pretty optimistic about how things will come together. I'll keep you all posted as things develop on that front.
Inheritance:
Haven't heard about any bugs related to the test build I released a few days back. I'm taking that as a good sign.
I plan to release a new build of the game on the 27th-28th assuming nothing is reported that needs fixing before then. The build will include the intro and navigation from the previous Patreon version. In addition to that, it will also include about 150 minor scenes and a wait function to make running down those scenes easier (A lot of scenes are tied to a specific time of day, like night/day, dusk/dawn, meal times, etc) As soon as the "Events" build is released to Patreons, I'll make the movement build public for free users.
Next up will be coding the NPCs into the game (This is a huge deal, and probably 90% of what's preventing further progress with the project right now. As soon as the NPCs are coded and we know how to make use of those mechanics, nearly everything we currently have written can start going into the game and I intend to start writing new content for the game again at that time) and I just pulled a big Q&A with the guy helping code the whole thing.
I'll keep you guys posted on progress as I know what's going on.
I think that's about it for now. Tomorrow will be a family day, then the next time I'll have a chance to work on anything for any serious amount of time will be Wed of this coming week.
