Iβm based in Vietnam. Movie start time is pretty much 15 minutes after posted time. You enter the auditorium at the time listed on the ticket. Immediately, trailers start. Give or take 10 minutes of trailers and thatβs all.

Last two times I went to AMC the wait was close to 45 min and more than an hour respectively. It's gotten so out of control I would rather show up at least a half hour late and risk missing the beginning of the movie then sit through an hour of ads

Lmao Joe actually did buy something ridiculously overpriced from the lobby π

It makes all too much sense that they have to aggressively hock that fizzy crap, going by the amount of empty seats in that picture... but then the overpriced beverages might have something to do with the lack of costumers in the first place ; A quandary.

Instead of watching those ads for soda and candy you should head to the Regal Theater lobby where you can purchase Funko Pops featuring characters from the hit Marvel blockbuster THUNDERBOLTS*.

I havenβt been to one of the big chains in a hot second, but boy they seem to be getting worse and worse. The best experiences for pre-show ads/previews remain local art house/indie cinemas and the furniture store nearby.

I love the trailers and pre-roll though. It's what makes seeing movies in a theater different than watching movies on streaming at home. Though I know a lot of people will disagree with me.

What could possibly have inspired another trip to the dreaded regal?

I showed up 23 minutes after the start time for Shin Godzilla on Sunday and there was still 2 more trailers. Itβs ridiculous.

Last I've heard at least AMC has acknowledged the insane amount of pre-show time and said they're "working on it" but I have little faith that will mean very much.
