Now that TV series structure themselves by seasons, not episodes, the chief two goals of a season finale is to:
A) get themselves renewed for one more season, by
B) creating such a crack-addictive cliffhanger that enraged fans will write in cards, letters and Twitter campaigns if the network even DARES not renew it.
That's why I don't watch much 21st-cty. network binge-TV, because I can smell a drug-pusher when I see one. 😛

You're anything but silly, Dilly. When is an ending not an ending? You've seen it many times before: GoT, TWD, etc. You're so right, it's the hook...and with its popularity, you can bet there'll be season 2. I agree with almost everything you said throughout the series: excellence on every level. But now the challenge is real; they've set the bar quite high, can they keep it up? Loved this series of reactions, now on to MCU (please).
