(The previous installment of this story fragment can be checked out here.)
Per your votes in a recent Patreon poll, here's part 3 (of 3) of a commissioned DiD short story in proto-Empowered format, drawn for a generous friend who appreciated not only my earlier con sketches of a wench-ified Kei and Yuri, but also my depiction of a young Red Monika from back-up stories I wrote and drew twenty-odd years ago for Joe Madureira's comic Battle Chasers.
Quick notes on the story (okay, "story") pages:

Note that this is the Red Monika from the second, "flashback" story I wrote and drew for Battle Chasers. (Was mildly annoyed to notice that I wasn't given a story credit in the recent BC TPB, but you may rest assured that I wrote both of 'em.)

Panel 2: Okay, that's a tad icky.
Panel 4: This was drawn during the era of the so-called Mysteriously Intermittent Post-Millennial Torso Glitch I've often mentioned in Empowered webcomic commentaries, so I'm not sure if Yuri's exaggerated proportions were a deliberate stylistic choice on my part, or just a garden-variety screw-up.
Note: I'm certain that a page 10 of this story exists, but I just couldn't dig up a scan in time for today's post.
Moving on, next up are a pair of related, late-90s con sketches featuring Red Monika distressing the Angels. (Despite the lack of dates on the pieces, I can tell by the characters' nose structures that they predate my abrupt, early-2000s switchover to "minimal nasal indication," as seen in the two comic pages.)

Now, as I mentioned earlier, my genetically upgraded, cyber-enhanced, ultra-tech-geared versions of the Dirty Pair would easily wipe the floor with Red Monika if she tried anything along these lines. However, a possible in-universe rationale might exist for these unlikely scenarios!
See, check out the panels below, from a "Kei'n'YuriCon 2141" convention scene appearing in 1995's Dirty Pair: Fatal But Not Serious issue #3:

(Kindly ignore the "Los Angeles Bonitas" bit, which may or may not be a deliberate error on my 25-years-ago part.)
So, yeahp, all these stories of an inexplicably distress-prone Kei and Yuri may very well be virtual-reality simulations of some sort. Case closed!
Anyhoo, next week we start up serialization of the "cocktail-dress Kei" story y'all voted for as the #2 option in the poll mentioned above. Wheeee!
TOMORROW: Time for another installment of I Am Empowered, the Twitter-format prose experiment dealie!
