February art requests for the $5 tier!
Added 2020-02-21 04:30:31 +0000 UTCIt's high time to get a jump on the ol' February art requests with you fine folks of the $5 tier! As usual, the focus for these pieces and sketch sets will be on Clip Studio Paint digital-art tests, but with a slightly different, two-pronged approach over the next few months:
1) First, while I'm quite comfortable sketching and drawing roughs in CSP, I am nowhere near having a viable art technique for finished, printable comic pages and illos. None of the app's default brushes for pencils or inks can deliver the linework quality I'm looking for, so clearly I need to experiment with new brushes, whether from CSP's add-on capabilities or via third-party "brush providers" like Frenden, from whom I recently acquired the 800-brush(!) pack. So, you'll likely see me messing around with wildly varying new brushes in art-request sketch dumps for the foreseeable future.
2) While I'm still on the hunt for "final art" brushes, in the meantime I also need to start experimenting with CSP's tools for comic-page production. So, you'll probably see sketch dumps formatted as faux comic pages, or speed lines gracing random illos, or screen-tone tests on headshots, or Lord knows what else. Gotta familiarize myself with the full CSP toolset, y'see, as I approach the point of "going whole hog with the digital," a process which I'll address in more detail later.
So fire away with any character suggestions or situation requests you might have, oh $5 folks! Could my own characters, or other characters, or more iterations of material I've already drawn here. Come to think of it, this could branch out beyond simple character choices to, I dunno, something broader for me to mess around with using CSP. Scenes or settings from earlier projects? Animals? (I'm in the middle of an animal-heavy episode of EMP12 at the moment.) Trees? Environments? Cars (God forbid)? Life drawing subjects? Robots?
Comments
In under the wire for February! Sure, I’ll tack that onto one of the upcoming sketch dumps.

2020-02-29 23:26:16 +0000 UTCI'd love to see a movie-inspired Harley Quinn (if you go photo ref route); but I think your cartooned approach would be a wonderful way to capture the spirit of the character.

2020-02-23 09:21:06 +0000 UTCI found out recently that one of the models of Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle is widely known as the Ninjette. So, how about some hawt Ninjette on Ninjette action? (OK, technically my understanding is that "Ninjette" refers to the smallest and least powerful version of the Ninja, the 250R/300R. If you think that's unfair and want to upgrade her to, say, the 200 MPH plus, banned from public streets for being too fast H2R, I won't complain)

2020-02-21 15:17:39 +0000 UTCThis is because I always request this when given the chance to ask a professional artist for a picture. Your version of Harley Quinn. Costume, situation, what ever tickles your fancy. =)

2020-02-21 14:25:00 +0000 UTCYa know, it might be fun to see a robot/cyborg girl/superhomey. Possibly in distress. Drawing mechanical parts is always an interesting challenge to me.

2020-02-21 11:48:13 +0000 UTCI was reading the extras in the back of Abe Sapien: Dark and Terrible vol. 2 and it had a bit talking about the covers for one particular part of the series, which all have a main image and mini character panel portraits along the bottom like this one -http://www.unleashthefanboy.com/comics/reviews-comics/abe-sapien-21-review/132336 Apparently the inspiration for these is posters for 70s disaster movies. Maybe if other people have requests for characters and situations you could work into it, it could be something to play with panel-wise!
