Con sketch dump: EVANGELION's Rei Ayanami, circa 1996!
Added 2019-08-15 13:08:21 +0000 UTCI'm really short on time this morning (and am attempting to post this g-d thing for the second g-d time), so here's a hastily posted set of 1996 con sketches featuring Rei Ayanami from Neon Genesis Evangelion, each drawn on linen-finish cardsstock and based on photoreference. And yeahp, the last two drawings were quite clearly based on pics from the '96-ish photo shoot of that leather jacket.

Yeah, I can see definitely see that. Plus, it's definitely an oddity to see Rei and phororeference used in the same piece, to put it mildly...

2019-08-16 12:40:36 +0000 UTCThere's a different "feeling" in these pieces versus a lot of your other stuff. I wonder if it has something to do with Rei herself, since she's such an icon. Not sure that makes sense, they just make me feel something different. I love how "THAT leather jacket" has it's own tag, brilliant.
