DISTRESSED DAMSELS: More DP Vintage Con Sketches!
Added 2021-01-27 14:01:06 +0000 UTCBehold, a trio of recently unearthed Dirty Pair damsel-in-distress con sketches from the 90s. Pretty straightforward, though I should add one note:
The label on poor Y**i's thigh is referring to a line from the Mystery Science Theater 3000 episode Wild Rebels, when one of that crappy movie's biker thugs tells the hero that he's "messing with private stock" after cozying up to a biker chick. (Per the fake cereal ad Joel and the bots worked up, "Wiiiiild Rebels, munchy crunchy rebels...")
In fact, an artist friend of mine—who's an even bigger MST3K fan than yrs truly—did a very pretty colored version of this sketch, but I can't find the printout he sent me. If he can dig up that jpeg sometime, I'll update this post with that colorized iteration.
Note also that someday I'll have to cut back on how many pieces of art I display per post, as I am currently burning through a vast but far from infinite backstock of older material at an unsustainable rate.

2021-02-06 00:57:45 +0000 UTCMan, I really should watch more MST3K, I've literally spent more time actually being held hostage and forced to watch cheezy movies than watching Joel/Mike(not kidding, happened when I was a kid as part of a high pressure timeshare pitch, spent like six hours locked in a broom closet with my sister watching some of the 80s made for TV Scooby Doo movies.)

2021-01-28 04:08:00 +0000 UTCI have to admit I love all the little MST3K refs that pop up in your stuff. Love the looks they're giving each other in the 3rd image, too. I can picture Emp off to the side calling them amateurs, too.
