DESIGN TUESDAY: EMPOWERED & THE SOLDIER OF LOVE's early sketches
Added 2021-02-09 13:13:54 +0000 UTCVery short on time today, so a quick note of explanation: Here are the earliest character designs for the titular mercenary magical girl from the miniseries Empowered and the Soldier of Love.
The first two images are the first sketches (including magical mascot Senor Pangolin) by the series' excellent artist Karla Diaz, while the rest are my initial design roughs suggesting visual concepts for the character and her costume.
TOMORROW ON THIS HERE PATREON: More Distressed Damsels content for the $5+ tiers, though at present I'm not sure what that content might be. Might be a three-page continuing excerpt from Empowered vol.12, if I can somehow find the time to scan the pages today or tomorrow morning.

2021-02-10 00:53:45 +0000 UTCI love her look, a perfect mix of 'standard MG' and 'we MEAN that "Soldier of Love" thing!'. And it remains a owwwww gut-punch that the idea of Kozue's dad showing her love was so utterly impossible it broke her out of the fugue state. Oof.
