ALL PATRONS: Boob Armour: 4 Things You Need to Know

Comments

Once upon a time I made my money making armour for cosplayers, larpers, and recreationists, and the considerations are all completely different. I'd expand, but I'd mostly be repeating what Jill said in the video. Armour has a purpose, and should be tailored to that purpose. Video game armor, broadly, is very silly. Male video game armour is also often very silly, but usually because it is several centimeters thick and would weigh hundreds of pounds.

If your Lady in armor was fighting men who had strong inhibitions against fighting women; you would want to let them know what they are up against. On the other hand those inhibitions would not last long; quality armor still beats revealing armor.

Butchers use chainmail gauntlets to protect against slicing, poking and chopping (but not, as you say, crushing).

Dr Martin Ward

that was absolutely brilliant

Breathing is important. [citation needed] Whether mail was good against pointy things seems to be a piece of contention. Dan Howard, who is a historical author, wrote the chapter on armor in GURPS - a game that prides itself on realism. The chapter gives no disadvantage against impaling or piercing weapons. It's rubbish against *crushing* weapon, though. Another thing people often don't think about when it comes to armor is that it is hot. As in, high temperature. There was a battle in England in 1461 where knights in full armor collapsed from heat exhaustion - in the middle of a snowstorm.
