Notes:
[Rides the Steed of Abigor, the first Nightmare, and a personal gift from Beezlebub, created from the remains of one of the horses in the garden of eden, often depicted as winged and skeletal.] This was a fascinating one to research. I think the mdoern idea of the Steed of Abrigor came from a homebrew roleplay website called Hora Aurea, or Golden Hour. However. They likely got the idea from a misreading of John Eyton B. Mayor’s 1878 translation of Juvenals Eighth Satire. The Eyton translation, which, is translated line-by-line and not as a facing-page and therefore ends an english sentence with “Steed” and begins the next latin sentence with “Abigor” which is latin for “stubborn” or “unwilling”.
All that said, given the greek mythological penchant for powerful beings making horses out of random shit, I am entirely willing to consider this now part of the occult canon, as it adds depth to the goetia, and to Nightmares as a creature, and isn’t sourced in something actively antisemitic (Although Juvenal was a raging misogynist.)
Brand of the Tactician - The marked gains mild predictive abilities. Whenever the marked engages in conflict with someone, they will perceive ghostly images depicting their opponents possible next movies. While at first the marked is only able to see a few moments into the future, with practice the prediction time can be extended, however without careful focus this can make the battlefield appear as an incomprehensible mess of shifting color as thousands of ghostly images overlap.
