Thoughts on Animation Previews?
Added 2019-02-06 16:14:12 +0000 UTCSo, I have had a few people bring this up and I wanted to discuss this a little to see what everyone thinks.
I typically post most scenes as an animation preview. I do this for a couple of reasons.
- 1) To get feedback on things that need to be fixed or get ideas on how to improve a scene
- 2) To provide some "proof" that I am working on the animation so everyone can see that progress is being made.
- 3) To keep my Patreon page active and engaging.
- 4) To keep myself in check and moving forward with the animation.
Now, I have heard from a few people that I post too much... on the other hand, I have heard from people that what I am doing is totally fine. So I am a little torn on this topic.
I guess my question is, do you think I should post less previews? Maybe I can slow it down to every 3-4 scenes? Or should I just keep doing what I am doing?
I like the feedback and ideas provided by everyone here and I kinda want a community project feel to this work but if you feel me posting too many previews has a negative affect on the overall experience, let me know.

Idk, I don't normally watch previews, but it has always seemed to me that the dialogue you have with the community about things to be added, tweaked, tried, ect has been helpful to you. I would hate for you to lose the extra sets of eyes to help you smooth things out.

2019-02-06 21:20:50 +0000 UTCI don't understand why some people would complain that you're posting too much as if they think that why don't they just not look at all the posts? And personally I find it annoying when I hear people complain about how long these animations take to make. To those who criticize on that basis have you ever tried to do what Red is doing? She does everything from start to finish herself, making her own models, rigging & texturing them, animating them, then rendering everything and anyone who actually realizes what that entails knows it's both difficult and very time consuming, and like anything there's times where unexpected problems arise. But if you think you could do it better or faster then by all means give it a try and see what happens.

2019-02-06 21:05:01 +0000 UTCI enjoy the updates, any communication is great. I don't always get to respond and give feedback but I always greatly appreciate when those I'm supporting on this platform continue to communicate what's going on and how things are going. It's a level of professionalism I truly appreciate.

2019-02-06 20:55:49 +0000 UTCHeya Rera... well, the primary reason things slowed down was so much is because I had to have my computers rendering full time. My plan is, to animate 3-5 days a week and do "requests" 1-2 days a week. I believe this will help me keep a really good animation pace and release the animations MUCH faster. Mainly because of the new render engine. I think AML4.5 could be done next month if I dont run into any major roadblocks.

2019-02-06 18:39:15 +0000 UTCRed, your production (i mean art + previews) is decreasing in the last month. Scene2.mp4 what does it mean ?? Preview ?? Leonardo DaVinci shown Monalisa's sketches to courtiers ?? It seems that you fill words instead of graphic art. Is this a social or a finest gallery art ? AML4.5 with a mass of comment will born in a year ? Where is WARP speed of your new machines ? Where is the sequel of BeachDay? Why do you find a mother lode and you give up for ... words ? Excuse me for trash talk anche thank for your patience.
2019-02-06 18:29:31 +0000 UTC*nods* Aye, keep doing what you are doing...as long as YOU enjoy posting all of em. If people don't like all the previews...they are able to not view them. Lol, easy enough. :)

2019-02-06 17:55:04 +0000 UTCKeep doing what you’re doing. The people that don’t want the preview have this magical option called not watching some or all of the previews.

2019-02-06 16:45:09 +0000 UTCAs a suggestion, perhaps you could make a single post which you later on will edit to add links to new previews. Anyone interested in previous can just keep track of that post.

2019-02-06 16:20:45 +0000 UTCHmm, it's an interesting conundrum alright, I can imagine that some people might want to see less to preserve some of the mystery of the final animation, see these scenes for the first time in their finished format. As for myself, I love seeing all of the previews and get excited every time you post a new one, so I'm totally happy with the current rate of posting. So I voted to keep the current rate of posting, however as a compromise, Cwolf's suggestion sounds like a good one 😸

2019-02-06 16:18:36 +0000 UTCI'm happy to give feedback on specific things, a la the bedroom etc, but I generally wait for the final animation. Also, quick feedback is difficult as I flat-out can't open the notification emails when I'm at work. :P
