Hello! Here's the textless version of the next comic page. I don't know if I can get something else substantial done alongside this for tomorrow so this might just be the post for the week. If that ends up being the case I should have a double-good post for next week, but either way I'm gonna give it my best shot to come up with something after this page goes up.
I feel like the experiment with the background outlines went pretty okay on this page, things felt like they came together quickly and I didn't drag my feet a whole lot so I'll probably keep at it and evolve the process over time. I find myself erasing some of the outlines rather than painting over them in a lighter color, but that's easy enough to keep track of with a separate layer from the background lines. All in all I think it is a useful adaptation, and hopefully I should be able to get more pages done more quickly.
This page marks the beginning of a new chapter, and I am somewhat excited about it, but I do have a worry that people might not immediately "get" the implied stakes due to how long it takes me to put comics up, real-time tends to stretch compared to comic-time and it always makes me nervous. Anyways, the setup is this: on a previous page Monday confronted the Mayor as one of his new employees. The Mayor isn't happy so he's calling up his Gravekeepers to take care of the problem. The Gravekeepers met Monday already and don't like him. They also know who all his friends are. Pat started hanging out with them because they're the cool-kids of Tombstone and because Liz and Alice dispatching three Hornets in the middle of the night- a mighty feat- was passed along as Pat's doing, so the impression is that he keeps saving people and is strong. The Gravekeepers are ordered to deal with Monday via his "friends", and so Snake Eye thinks their newest pal would be great for the job. It's a set-up from a bunch of different threads and basically everyone is in trouble now, uh oh!! But I wonder if people will be able to pick up on that. I guess I'll find out.
The text shouldn't take too long to go up so you can look forward to the final page being posted shortly. Thank you for your patience! I'll have more to share soon, so until then, have a good one!
