It's been implied, if not outright stated, that he learned the soul-manipulation singing from his family. That's why they are called Singer, they are the noble descendants from some high-gold healer who figured out how to manipulate people's souls by singing. At bronze, he was only able to temporarily trick the soul into thinking the body was supposed to look different, but at silver he could make permanent changes. Makes you wonder whether he actually got a special class for it, which would mean that the System acknowledges his soul shenanigans.

Damn...now I'm really interested in what Leireth was up to. Awakened fleshshaping is kinda starting to sound like something that's always been around, and not just some wacky one-off thing Leireth was doing.

2022-12-14 22:40:42 +0000 UTCTo be fair, the minimum requirement is becoming gold plate (of which the numbers world wide should be in the low hundreds, so 3 digits and would be very surprised if it is in 200s) and having the inspiration to try some manner of meditation to enter your soul. Afterwards you will have a fully functioning guide to go through the basics. Ameliah and Tallheart have an incompletely activated guide due to their being silver. Wonder why Lavarro stayed at level 49 and didn’t advance her cap even when her strength is better than Halgrave who is gold already? Perhaps she is a force mage equivalent to Val’s (and Lightbreaker when he started out) Contender of Light and had to solo an essence monster but nearly died and had to be saved thus not making it a solo kill and ruining requirements for gold class she wanted. I bet that if she knew enough about soul stuff, she would have been able to destroy that outermost layer of paling that screwed her over, lowering her cap and trying again. Though she would have to learn from someone in gold already doing stuff as learning it herself would be too difficult.
