Hola Familia!

My first week of school was extremely exhausting! If you have someone who teaches in your life, give them a cup of their favorite coffee or their favorite energy drink. The first week is rough. Getting used to your new schedule with new faces and new personalities can be a bit much at first. My first week back I was asked to teach after school beginning flute classes to give them a headstart before they got to work with their general band director. Being in a room with 25 excited eleven year olds was A LOT, but MY GOSH was it ADORABLE to see them so excited to make a sound on their headjoints.

• BAND-MAID Sunday:

  • Here we are with "You." Koboto lyrics, BAND-MAID made with arranging done by Toshinari Ohnishi. Ohnishi worked on "The Non-Fiction Days," on the previous album from what I remember. I did a little research before listening to this song and apparently this song is about loving someone so strongly that you can't live without them. You guys...you know how much I love me a good love song! ESPECIALLY if it's rock!

• Peter Gabriel - Slegdehammer

  • I faintly remember hearing this name around the house when I was a little kid. The high school band I work with did a marching show with a selection from Peter Gabriel. Crazy, huh? I have only heard a cover of this song. Embarassingly enough when PANIC asked if I had heard this version of the song I basically said that I didn't know there was an original version. Hides face I know...I KNOW! Needless to say, I am excited to finally hear the real version!

• MOS - ZIG ZAG

  • I am SO HAPPY this was suggested to me! With all the great musical groups you guys suggest out there, it's easy for some to end up in a filing cabinet back in the depths of my brain just waiting to be dusted off. The Music Omotenashi Sisters are one of those! I did a reaction to them back in May of 2024 with their performance of "Il Vento d'Oro" from JoJo's Bizzare Adventure (which I still haven't seen yet...😅) and MAN, I was blown away. I am excited to check out ZIG ZAG, and apparently we have guest appearances from Wakezemon (East of Eden) and Mimori (Faulieu). Let's get it!

• BAND-MAID - Kannai Devil interview 2020!

  • It's bittersweet, but this is the last translated interview (that I know of). I am learning so much more about all the Maids from these interviews. Honestly, they are my kind of ladies. I have so much in common with them it HURTS. Ha! I wonder what questions they answered this time around!

  • (I was ahead in episode numbers) Asuka desereves to be happy. I can't believe it was her father...HER DAD, GUYS!

• Rock is a Lady's Modesty, Ep. 9

  • The battle of the bands is upon the newly formed band and things seem a tad rocky at first, but it seems like the ladies pull out an awesome performance after all!

• K-ON!, Season 1, Ep. 4

  • Training camp was more of a beach getaway vs a practice session. Poor Mio really wanted to get some practice done, but to her surprise Yui actually is getting better. It seems like Yui can play by ear! I was surprised!

I finished my first week of teaching by rounding it off with going to a GHOST concert last night. I had such a great time and got cute trinkets and such from Ghouls and Ghoulettes at the show! Ghost fans are sweet people. 💜 You'll see me in my merch while recording this weekend!
