If that's all the purpose that whole interaction serves, then I definitely think it was unnecessary. It's already very apparent how much he, and other people, have changed. If Lucas was going through some sort of crisis where he was struggling with who is now or who other people are now, it would definitely make more sense to have an interaction like that in the show. But, neither we nor Lucas needed that reminder. Now, if that character shows back up again in the future (which I don't want any hints about one way or the other), then everything I said above is invalid because it would serve as her introduction and that's more than enough to make it a meaningful storyline. So, I'll just have to wait and see.

2022-10-05 23:33:07 +0000 UTCThe stuff with Lucas this epi with his friend from the Rivercourt was to show how much he's changed since the Rivercourt because of the new ppl in his life now and by extension how those ppl have changed and how they aren't the same ppl either.
