The Reflection had more Stan Lee presence than a lot of the anime he rubber stamped. He appeared in the dub as the one villain that was designed to look like him as well as did the next episode previews. As for a show itself, it was a lot like old Marvel cartoons from the 60s that were just voices over the comic panels.

But YES, the music is one of my favorite parts of the series and I've been playing it for my daughter to fall asleep for years now.

I seen the movie and it's just okay. It goes on for a little too long and just isn't that exciting unfortunately. I've watched it twice a few years apart with the same results.

My girlfriend who introduced me to Mushishi also showed me Mononoke and it is great as well!

Yes! I would love a Kino's Journey episode of WAC as well.

This is one of those anime I remember watching way back in my college anime club. I need to revisit it. Also, fingers crossed for What-a-Cartoon: Kino's Journey. That's one of my favs!

Great episode guys. Also for those that like Mushishi please check out Neko ga Nishi Mukya/When a Cat Faces West. I've been translating it for the last year and a half or so and it's really good. Kind of a modern-day take on Mushishi.

The funniest thing about the Mushishi live action movie is it was directed by *Katsuhiro Otomo*. Yes, the Akira manga creator/film director. I didn't really like the film, I mostly watched it because I both liked Mushishi and was a fan of the lead actor, Jo Odagiri, from his other work. That said, the white wig they put on him as Ginko is hilarious.

On "what if Mononoke was a TV show": there is actually a 2007 anime called Mononoke, totally unrelated to Ghibli, but in some ways similar to Mushishi! It's an episodic series about a supernatural investigator in 19th century Japan who uncovers the human pain or crime that birthed this week's surreal folkloric haunting. The art is absolutely gorgeous. Highly recommend checking it out!
