At the beginning Snow shows Katniss a video of her kissing Gale (or actually Gale kissing her) in order to show how he is like an all knowing all seeing power. The victors from 4 were both addicted to "morphling" which is a version of morphine I assume and they were going through withdrawal during the training. They also seemed prepared to sacrifice themselves in order to rescue Katniss and Peeta. The game maker Plutarch is played by Philip Seymour Hoffman who was an Oscar winning actor who actually died after filming the 3rd film I believe. Excellent guessing about what is going to happen. Of course I had read all the books which are very readable and they did a pretty good job recreating these characters. Enjoy the next two!
