We obviously see in the movie that in 1947 (The convo with Einstein at the beginning and end) he became the director of Princeton's Institute of Advanced Study. Well, He was actually the longest serving director of the Institute of Advanced Study as of 2023.

It's not surprising, but the absolute hysteria around communist ideas, just ideas! Is still haunting to think about. Like conservatives today will fearmonger about the left and their "woke thought police" when in reality the only side of the spectrum that has ever literally policed the thoughts of people is the right. Also, there is a lot of evidence ht the Japanese were willing to surrender and was in talks to do so before the bombs were dropped. It is believed by a lot of people that the bombs were dropped more as a way to show the world (especially the soviets) the power the US military now had.
