OL2: Beta Build 1.4.4 🍎 (PC, Mac, Android)
Added 2024-07-17 00:48:04 +0000 UTCYeah, I wasn't gonna post on a Tuesday, but I realized I'm leaving on a trip tomorrow and it'd be better to just have the build come out before then. There's no law saying I have to post at the exact same time everyday, haha.
So we've now got the first Step 1 DLC Moment fully playable. Hooray! You can finally get through the night and come out on the other side.

No Information in the beta can be shared publicly.
Screenshots can't be posted, videos can't be uploaded, even discussing what occurs in the events publicly is not allowed and will get your access to future builds revoked.
You can do all of those things within the private GB Patch Discord server or leave your feedback as a comment.

And since we've had some problems in the past with so many people downloading beta builds that they get locked out by Google Drive, I've uploaded mirror builds! If the first ones listed don't work, you can try these.

Or you can bypass the quota by logging in to a Google Drive account, then on the file's download page, click "Add shortcut to Drive" in the upper right corner. Save it to your Drive, then create a new folder, put it inside, and download the folder!
Save files from the prior beta should work in this beta!

The beta is so much fun but am I the ony one that if you do the sleepover dlc if you decide to sleep with your special blanket and pick to wake up after Tamarack and Qiu after you notic the blankets missing a message will come up saying an exception has occurred and a file named silent is not defined it won't let you move for in the game but you can you back to the scene before the message

Sugary and savory, breakfast was on its way." Then the very next line was "You three talked in quick, hushed words until one by one you began to sniff the air. I only have OL2 downloaded on WinRar and nothing more. If Renpy just doesn't work it might be worth a shot to try and open the file on WinRar and see if it works.

2024-07-23 23:12:36 +0000 UTCI was trying that now (as my MC was made to be sad they didn't play dare or double-dare) and it does the same to me plus if you try to ask Qiu to kiss you he (using He because it's step 1 Qiu) will do it but the scene doesn't play, it skips that and goes straight to the reaction of the MC after the kiss. If you chose for only Tam to kiss you she will kiss your cheek and the only time you can see Qiu kiss part is if you chose that or dare both, if you chose the Tam one the game will mistake it as being the dare that both have to kiss you.

2024-07-23 17:38:59 +0000 UTCThe build is 970 KB or so, depending on the version. So, it seems like there's either an internet connection problem or a virus scanner is blocking it or the older versions are getting in the way. But it's likely not a problem with the new build itself.

Also, is it worth mentioning that I got that demo off Steam? The same issues apply if I download off Itch---nothing happens.

2024-07-22 23:36:12 +0000 UTCWhat's the size of the file? Maybe it didn't download fully. Or maybe a virus scanner has randomly decided not to trust this build and won't even let it launch. That happens sometimes, even if you've been able to download other versions without issue. You could also try removing any older betas you might have on the device to see if the old data is a problem.

2024-07-20 14:27:23 +0000 UTCoh, ive had that problem in the past! the solution ive found (that at least works for my specific model) to first ensure i can move around the Moment to another spot which confirms the Moment as "its moving-hitbox is accessible" and informs the program "focus on this specifically". then, i quickly tap various parts of the photo to find the smaller "click-to-activate-hitbox" and it pops up on my android well within 5, or at most 10, seconds of fast tapping. it feels like the program finally grasps "ah, you hold down when you want to move, this quick tapping is for the other hitbox" even though i know that's not how the coding works lol i dont think its a problem with the coding itself, i think the issue is just "two hitboxes on one small item" that you have to activate with your finger is going to be clumsy due to the size of a fingertip and a phone-screen. it could be helpful, for accessibility, to have an option on-screen within the Moments Photos page for the moving the pictures element to be turned off? so then it's just a matter of hitting the "click-to-activate-hitbox" rather than getting the program to recognize you're trying to hit the other hitbox (in this case, the click-to-activate one) instead of the one you are activating (in this case, the moving-hitbox one) that being said though, after discovering my method of "move it first and then quickly tap different spots in the photo"? i havent had any issues. ive had issues with downloading this specific update which i put in a different comment thread, and i apologize if this is an issue thats part of THIS UPDATE as i ergo obviously havent played THIS UPDATE (i just am checking back in to see if there are solutions yet, and its fine that there isn't. that's what happens with trips. i can wait. i hope the creator/s are having fun ♡). but the phrasing sounds like its been an issue for a while. and i hope my method can help! though i, of course, have no idea if my solution only works how it does via my specific android model being what it is, as this is my only android phone lmao so i do apologize if my tip is unhelpful, and i wish i had a secondary source or alternate solution to offer. but i have a Galaxy A71 5G type of android if that specifity/clarification helps. i hope my tip can work for one or both of you two! if not, i hope a solution can be coded in to make the Moments page more accessible to you both ♡ have a great day!

As always I played through all of it like my life depended on it 🥹🥹🥹 Everybody else also mentioned a bug but I'll also say the 'dare qui to kiss' choice leads to skipping to the end of the sequence to kiss related choices. 'Dare both to kiss' plays normally and I had no problems with only 'dare tamarack to kiss'. I could recreate the bug by following 'say goodnight to granny', 'saying we'll be good', 'lying we'll be good'. Hope this helps!

Since the Moment icons can be moved around it never registers my tapping as a selection and just moves the icons. I find it so frustrating that I most often don't want to play on my phone. Or, if it does miraculously register my furious tapping after a couple minutes I'm angry & frustrated while starting a new chapter, and I hate that I'm not relaxed and having fun in this VN that should be relaxing.

I can't exactly call this a cute or sweet moment since it was so upsetting for my MC, but it was very interesting! Especially considering my OL 1 MC is a very positive and chill person in general, meaning he doesn't get upset. Like never. Or well, almost never. So that sort of content is pretty new to me in the series! That aside, I still had something that I believe is an error, though a minor one. When eating breakfast: "Things hadn't started off the best with this type of syrup, but when you took your first bite it tasted wonderfuly of what must've been real maple flavor" - my MC put syrup in his tea only, so it shouldn't mention it tasting good with the first bite but rather the first sip. Not a big problem like I said, but still a small continuity error!
