The RM 'Indigo' Album Review

This is the best debut hip-hop album I've heard in recent times since Kendrick Lamar debuted with 'good kid, m.a.a.d city' or Lauryn Hill's 'The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill' album.. give those a listen or another listen after hearing Indigo if you haven't already. What's your favorite song off of this album so far?

Right?! That vibe is everything!

Instantly GOATED

I don’t think nothing in the world will ever compare to a song like Backseat Freestyle.. RM gotta get a beat from Hit Boy one day 💥 Change Pt 2 is ridiculous though

Gonna watch it today 🫠

Right?! I’m sayin tho!!!

My bad, *major label debut* Section.80 was hard, that was released solely through TDE. After he signed with Dr. Dre’s Aftermath & Interscope then dropped GKMC & went triple platinum. That major label push with a catalog artist does wonders for listeners especially when there’s this much substance in the music & it’s this refreshing.

I’m gonna check it out! Sounds exciting! Tablo went all the way in!!!

Here is magazine interview with RM and features in album mentioned in previous comment. https://youtu.be/lRy8OYhLO- I wish this album was on vinyl! Yun would be 🔥 as some others but that one for sure! RM was reason I got into BTS yrs ago. His wordplay is amazing. Tablo did run that track though 😂. I can’t choose a fav I have 3/4 tied. It’s a masterpiece art itself

Of course I don’t agree that this is the best debut album especially because I think even J-hope’s album was more profound and have better production that RM’s work. Indigo for me is good project with some duds. But Dez, GKMC isn’t Kendrick’s debut. Section 80 was

closer! Paul blanco with beo slaps!!!!!

Dez, in case you didn't know yet, there is a magazine film (their words) of the album, an interview of him and the other artists and writers involved and what all of album is about. You should check it out.

“Wild Flower” is up there and a perfect title track to set the theme. “Hectic” and “Forg_tful” are tied for my favorite track. There are a lot of good verses here, but nothing as raw and compelling as “Backseat Freestyle” to be compared to that Kendrick album. I agree with its similarities to Miseducation for the features and how the whole thing just *flows*.

YES. And how does it start off so strong but also so cool? “Yun” is so smooth 🌊
