Vlog Day 20 -- Discussion: What Makes Art Good?

These vlogs have been fun but unexpectedly so inspiring to my own process toward life, work, mental state, etc. They add more to the sense of not being alone in things I similarly struggle with. I know these take time and may not always be priority, but thanks for continuing to do it for now. This brain will take all the help it can get!

What hit. As far as cuts that hit. Drive, commitment, time, and. Fact you wandered into a perfectly robust conversation between yourselves helps with real. Reality faced daily. Not so mush art the same. I am ana mech tech 3. But do my art and talk to myself and machines until i get it right. Over over and over.. great talk......... and yes. Your team has pulled a tear, a smile,xoxo .and a way to see me that makes me proudto be me.

I took classes at Columbus Art and Design and agree, it is the process. I would do homework and get part way into it only to think of a better way to do it. I love art that you look at it and pulls you in. The more you the more you see.

Personally, I've always thought that art ONLY exists during the process - during that flow like feeling you have when you're creating something. To me, the end result is just a by-product. When I lived in Paris, I'd go to The Louvre and watch the throngs of people waving their smart phones at the Mona Lisa and think of that as some kind of performance art - the painting on the wall did nothing for me.

I agree with everything that you talked about in this video and watched the posted video and it was great. I remember (way back when, do not want to date myself) that a musician was writing songs that he thought people would like and they were not going over well. When he started doing what he had experienced in life is when he made it big. So, the take away is when you do something that is close to you heart it is meaningful and good. I think that is why the channel does so well. Jessica talks and does things that are close to her heart that she is able to relate to it at a personal level. You both do a great job on the channel. I still would like to see the lost episodes (IE the first ones). I am curious of how it was compared to where you are today. It has been a quick two years and you have done a lot and will keep doing more. I am very happy for your success!!!! Keep up the good work.

I can relate to staying up super late to work on something. I get so hyperfocused on what I'm doing (especially if it comes to lesson planning or thinking up fun activities for my preschoolers) that all of a sudden it's 3 a.m. Thankfully, my brain is usually nice enough to me to let me get to sleep earlier than that on a school night. But, right now, it's Friday night, it's 2:30 a.m and I'm watching this vlog. :)
