Vintage Inspiration Part 9

I love collecting and restoring vintage photos to use as inspiration for my shoots. I wish I could find the photographers of these photos and thank them for having the courage to take photos like these in a time when it was even less acceptable than it is now. There's something about vintage photos that has always inspired me. A raw, naturalistic look that isn't sought after anymore.

I think there is a Greek statue aesthetic which isn't popular any more. I suspect that maybe due to that type of statuary being one the only acceptable forms of male nudity for the longest of times. I prefer the images that the have humour in them. I think that also the men in those images represent what was considered beautiful at the time. I think now a broader range of body types are considered beautiful on a societal level. Plus I can imagine film being quite expensive even if you weren't selling the images on. Whereas we are sort of spoilt with our smart camera phones.

One of my favorite adult film studios will on rare occasions post behind-the-scenes or making-of videos. They've always been my favorites. I find I enjoy them even more than the final product because, as you say, the models are being captured candidly, in the moment and off-script. Picture 17 from this collection is the sort that wouldn't look out of place as a production still from one of those. Your analysis is spot on, and thanks for continuing to post these vintage finds!
