As Professor Oak alluded to last episode, the Holst Jupiter theme comes back here for Feitan's "pain packer." In particular, you can hear the violins at 17:25, compared to the main melody of the original here: https://youtu.be/Gu77Vtja30c?si=ZngMN977nCkQUv96&t=177

2024-05-17 21:56:04 +0000 UTCHe's speaking Japanese backwards in this episode. For example, instead of saying "is it hot?" (a-tsu-i-ka) at 16:04, he says 'ka-i-tsu-a'). For the line "it's okay to run": ni-ge-te-mo-i-i-ze - - > ze-i-i-mo-te-ge-ni And so on.

2024-05-17 21:52:40 +0000 UTCSpeaking of being spoiled by crunchyroll, another small reminder that ep 100 begins a new outro and spoils not only new characters but the trajectory of the show as well. EP 108 is a good place to watch it though.

2024-05-17 21:10:22 +0000 UTCYour thoughts of “me against the world” couldn’t apply more to the troupe. The strange thing is that most of them don’t have a particular attachment to killing or stealing, it’s not really a passion, just a hobby. I think this is a result of literally growing up nameless in a trash city, abandoned. This seems to be compensatory by now choosing live louder than anyone.

2024-05-17 05:58:49 +0000 UTCI don't think he needed his nen for that fight particularly. In this case it was more or less him finding a way to give the former citizens of Meteor City a proper sendoff. While presenting a rough exterior, Phinks is fooling no one in the fact he is the most vulnerable troupe member of all to his feelings, and compassion - and sending them off with a bang and fighting for their home I feel was his way out from between a rock and a hard place, doing as was said in the reaction - something he didnt want to do at all

2024-05-17 03:02:45 +0000 UTCI love that even with like 4 members absent, Phantom Troupe still 1v1's an Ant Queen with minimal resistance. This episode showcases Feitan's unique aura- my favorite looking in the show. I also enjoy that Phinks gave his shirt to Shizuku to wear as a dress at the end, very cute.

2024-05-17 02:58:32 +0000 UTCThese two episodes kinda came out of nowhere, but I’m so glad to get any more Phantom Troupe, so I love them. As madgod mentioned, sadly their story doesn’t continue until after the anime ends, but they are quite prevalent in the current manga. I really hope Togashi is able to finish the current arc, because that’s the only way there’s a chance we get a continuation of the anime. He’s been posting his progress on Twitter though, and is currently going at around 3 pages per day, which is very impressive given his circumstances. The current arc is very well received and I would love for it to get an adaptation at some point.

2024-05-17 02:50:17 +0000 UTCBravo for the callout on Phinks "coping mechanism" I don't think I would quite call it that, but it's very closely relative to how I think it to be

2024-05-17 02:49:22 +0000 UTCTo add onto this, in the manga it's represented by Feitan always speaking in broken sentences.
Oak
2024-05-17 02:44:09 +0000 UTCFeitan's extra subtitles were because he switched to his native language, which isn't Japanese. It's the reason he talks a bit slower and more methodically than most of the others, because Japanese isn't his native tongue. It's a little more apparent in the english dub though

2024-05-17 02:09:41 +0000 UTCUnfortunately, this is the last we see of the phantom troupe in the show. However we do get the continuation of their story as well as much more of their backstory in the manga chapters that take place after the show's end.
