Dark Samus Painting + initial sketch (Metroid)
Added 2022-12-06 20:07:49 +0000 UTCPainting is very challenging for me, but it's another tool I'd like to have in my toolbox -- this particular idea seemed fitting for a more painterly look, so I gave it a shot!
I've drawn Dark Samus a few times before in varying forms, but I wanted to emphasize her alienness/monstrousness a bit more here. I gave her a few elements of Prime itself (the orange highlights and eyes) and tried to make her hair feel very ethereal, like it's charged with energy.
I know this is pretty different from the usual, but hopefully you guys will enjoy it at least a little bit. 🙏 I feel like I learned a few things that should help next time I try my hand at painting, so I personally consider it a success.
