Sneak Peek Sundays # 5
Added 2015-02-16 01:47:27 +0000 UTCI thought you might like to see Gabriel's Mayorga's pencil work, before he inks. This image is hot off the press -- it's the pencils for Red Hot's Origin Card, which shows one of the very first uses of his powers. After quelling a number of forest fires, Kyle made an early name for himself in the heroing community by preventing a major disaster at the San Andreas Nuclear Facility. That's what's going on here. Even though Kyle was ultimately rejected by the Young Superhero Development Program, his service and dedication to being a superhero did not escape the notice of the Department of Extraordinary Security, and his name was on a shortlist provided to Colonel Charleyboy when The Young Protectors was being formed. 2015-02-17 19:34:36 +0000 UTCIf I remember correctly Kyle said he was 12 when he found out about his powers (in the bad way...) but he looks way older here so can I assume he avoided "using" the powers on purpose until he was like maybe 15 or 16? He sure doesn't look like 12 here anymore ^^ I mean it would totally make sense after what happenad at his first unwanted use and he must have feared his powers actually... good thing he came to terms with them and could use them in a good way like this :D positive experiences are sure crucial to overcome the fears :)

Or as Duncan once suggested to Sircea - is Spooky powerful enough to help her? Was this fire regular combustion or was this nuclear fire? There's no way a story reveals that early, BTW.
