2020 Updates

Hey everyone, and welcome to our new friends! 

I just wanted to give you all an update and a look forward to what'll be happening in 2020. I already have my video schedule for the first few months of the year figured out, and as general topics don't spoil too much I thought it couldn't hurt to let you know what's coming up.

In January I'll be looking at the filmography of David Cronenberg. This video will likely be VERY gory, so I'll have to restrict it to 18+, which will seriously harm its potential views, annoyingly, so if you like that one please be sure to share it. I also hope to edit together the mini-essay "Objectivity" which I already posted here.
In February I'm analysing the remake of classic game Catherine into Catherine: Full Body and what a raging dumpster fire it is. The mini-essay, if it's done in time, will be "You Are Literally a Metaphor".
In March, Natalie and I are both producing videos about Abortion. Hers will be about Abortion in fiction media and mine will be an accompanying piece about the experience of partners of people who have abortions.
In April I plan to release an essay on Watchmen (the TV series), and a mini-essay on the film Knightriders.
In May we've got a main essay on the Outer Worlds and a mini-essay on the novel A Very British Coup and its two adaptations.

All of that could change, but that's the current plan. If I think of any super-topical things I'd rather be doing, or lose interest in any of these projects, these plans will definitely change.
Additional content (yes, including the spinach and feta pie recipe) will be available here for $2+ patrons as we progress. I hope to produce additional thoughts or longer versions, and patreon extras, for every main essay.

The other specific update I wanted to give was something I've been saying in a few places - that I'm going to be streaming a lot in January, and I'm hoping to build up my presence on twitch (wanna push for that new emote slot, haha!). So I'll be streaming (hopefully) some Fallouts 1 and 2, perhaps some New Vegas, certainly Catherine, Death Stranding and Outer Worlds, maybe Pathologic 2, and possibly some other stuff too. I'll also do more editing streams, since my test for streaming my editing process was a lot of fun, and very productive. I'd also quite like to do a stream at some point looking over my past work and chatting with you folx about how I could improve on it, but only if that's something you'd be interested in.

The generic update I wanted to give was that I've nearly gotten enough new patrons to cover the 50% rent increase I'm going to have in March, so I wanted to say thank you so much to everybody here, and tell you that if the patreon continues to grow, everything's going to be okay, which is a big relief.

I sent out letters of thanks to a wave of patrons a little while ago but none of the people I checked with personally said they'd arrived, so if you missed out on getting a letter of thanks, let me know and I'll record you a video-letter of thanks instead.

Looking forward to hearing from everyone, remember when you're stuck with your conservative relatives over Christmas, "I'm not locked in here with you, you're locked in here with me!", I hope you all are doing okay, and have a great 2020!
