2024-04-28 14:54:28 +0000 UTCtbh I can totally understand the frustration if you've read the novel first and are anticipating the live action adaptation of it, only to learn that one of the main aspects (the boy love story) was completely removed and turned into a heterosexual romance. I'd be mad too ๐ (that being said, Xiao Zhan and Meng Ziyi, aka Wen Qing, do have amazing chemistry and would look veery hot together but that's a whole other story ๐ซข)

In fact, Wen Qing is a less significant character in the novel and doesn't even go to Cloud Recesses. However, in the drama adaptation, Wen Qing was originally intended to be Wei Wuxian's love interest, but fans petitioned the production company to stay true to the story. As a result, the writers added a side romance between Wen Qing and Jiang Cheng

2024-04-25 17:13:14 +0000 UTCwill it be better to not mention what shld they expect on incoming episodes (e.g oh the next 2 ep will be rly sad) so it won't reduce the element of surprise and they could watch the unexpected.... hmm anyhow I always cry with scene where WWX woke up, ran alone to found out there's no wen clan remain ๐ฅน esp. not the way Wen Qing dead ๐ and how Wwx would finish his own life...in such a young age... safe to say ep. 31-32 are quite the climax of the untamed

2024-04-25 06:40:29 +0000 UTCEven tho I love the original story of The Untamed, if it was changed to be a romance between Wen Qing and Wei Wuxian, it wouldn't bother me at all, because they have good chemistry too so. (But my favorite is still the original tho ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ) And yeah, at first Jin Zixuan wasn't much likeable but I ended up liking his character and felt so sad to see him die just like that, it was shocking the first time because I wasn't expecting him to die this way.

2024-04-25 06:39:42 +0000 UTCIt's not a spoiler at all, but yes when Jin Clan asked Wen Ning and Wen Qing to go to Jinlintai to "make account for now" I was like "okay, they want both of you to go, but after yall get the punishment, what's next ???? Because I don't think it will end just with both of you getting punished, knowing that they were after all the remaining Wen members and Wei Wuxian the Yilling Laozu", like I'm not gonna be fooled by these Jin members.

2024-04-24 22:45:10 +0000 UTCAHHH I thought since you uploaded the 'Moving' reaction today, 'The Untamed' would come tomorrow but I'm sooo happy you managed to upload it today!! ๐ซถ As a person with mild trypophobia (aversion to clusters of small holes, like that disgusting thing on Jin Zixun's chest), the scene where he showed the effect of the curse was an absolute jumpscare! First time I watched it was also the last bc it traumatized me fr ๐คข Ngl, I am beyond happy this mf is dead! GOOD RIDDANCE, HAVE FUN IN HELL BISH R.I.P. Jin Zixuan tho, it's a real pity bc you were just becoming more and more likeable... And to answer yall's question, the only episode more heartbreaking than this one is the next one (and maybe part of 33 as well). So yeah. Brace yourselves ๐ฅฒ The fun fact of today that randomly popped up in my head while watching: During the early stages of production some leaked behind-the-scenes footage revealed that the writers had rewritten the BL story so that the main romance was between Wei Ying and Wen Qing (probably in order to try and stay away from the censorship). However, the moment fans of the original novel found out... well, let's just say they weren't happy ๐ And so, thankfully, the script was changed to be closer to the original and a lot of Wen Qing's scenes were cut. I still love her bond with Wei Ying, they're like a platonically married couple, constantly bickering and taking care of the whole Wen clan like parents. And when she expressed her apology and her gratitude at the end.... crying............. Thank you sm for the reaction guys, only an episode and a half left of this torture, hang in there!! โค๏ธ

Lenny you said it perfectly, Jin Zixuan wasn't the most likeable sometimes but he definitely did NOT deserve to die. Every time I would comment about Jin Zixuan before, this episode was always coming to my mind :(. He was finally becoming a much nicer and more mature person. Jin Zixun seriously had to do all this for what? Seeing how happy he and Yanli were makes it even more painful. The episode started off so happy and things took such a severe turn. I wish I could see exactly what Jiang Yanli, Jiang Cheng, and Lan Zhan were thinking in that moment. I can't even imagine the thoughts going through their heads. Also, when I first saw Wen Qing put the needle in Wei Wuxian, I also was thinking about how the needle would go into his back more if they laid him down and I was like "ouch", but on another note, I seriously don't understand why the Jin clan asked both Wen Qing and Wen Ning to go to Jinlintai. I mean, as much as I love Wen Ning, I can at least understand from their point of view why they'd consider him responsible, but the fact that they asked Wen Qing to go too just proves that they seriously have been waiting to call them in all this time. Like all Wen Qing does is cook, work, and lead a happy life in burial mounds, what possible excuse do they have to call her into Jinlintai. I'm anxious but looking forward to the next episodes. Also one hundred divided by five is twenty so 3/5 would be 60% haha. So I guess we're 60% of the way through the untamed!!! P.S. when I watched the untamed with my mom, it was a whole new experience because sometimes she'd ask me what the subtitles said and then she'd be like, "that's what the subtitles wrote?? that's not what he/she actually said!" haha. The differences won't be major but there were a few where I was like "what?? that makes it so much better!"
