The Untamed Ep 33

Comments

No please, I'm always looking forward to their discussions. I understand that we would love to see them watch two episodes at a time, but i wouldn't give up the discussions for another episode. The discussions and reading of comments helps us know that they understand what's going on, and its fun to see their reactions to the comment.

Precious Jude

At the end of the battle WWX revealed the S. T. Amulet and destroyed it (broke it into pieces). Nevertheless, the power greedy cultivators were killing each other for those piecesโ€ฆ

Alisa Zelyonaya

Iโ€™m sad. 30 some minutes of discussion, but I bet you could fit another episode in there instead and a brief discussion at the end ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Sami Casingal

You see it right?

Leah Kim

this so true tho...

Incense_ burner_ 101

The juniors are backkk!!! keep a good eye out for Lan Sizhui who is like a mini-Lan Zhan, Lan Jingyi who is like a mini Wuxian and Jin Ling who is a mini-Jiang Cheng.

Leah Kim

Woah canโ€™t believe the Flashback is over just like that. ๐Ÿ˜ฉโค๏ธ

Congrats on reaching the end of the flashback!! ๐Ÿฅณ I can't believe it's been 33 episodes already, time really flies by in the blink of an eye when you're enjoying yourself! A little clarification bc I know it can get quite confusing: as you know, in historical C-dramas cultivators' powers rely on their golden cores. Spitting blood is used to show a disruption in the flow of spiritual energy. Basically, it's a cheap and sure way to show that a character is weak and injured, which is what Wei Ying was after releasing all that resentful energy and trying to control it. The scene where time stops when Wei Ying releases the Yin Tiger Seal and it collects all the resentful energy is one of my favorites in the drama bc it was sooo well executed and just really cool to watch!! Also the music that played during that whole sequence and the chaos afterwards reminded me of action scenes in old Disney movies - there is something goofy abt it but it's also very beautiful and it definitely contributes to the stressful vibe lol Oh, sweet reunions... It amazes me how they managed to make Yibo actually look older and more mature after the flashback. The distinction between teenage Lan Zhan and 30-something year old Lan Zhan is definitely visible! Hahaha since you mentioned that Jin Ling looks like the dimple guy: there was an interview where the cast was asked abt the resemblance between the two characters and Jin Zixuan's actor jokingly said that it's good he died so early in the series bc otherwise there could have been a whole new plotline about THAT issue and the possible reason for it (if you know what I mean) ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ Anyway, get ready for some WangXian quality time on the road to cure our depression from the past couple episodes ๐Ÿซถ

Honestly the reason behind Lan Zhanโ€™s whip marks and punishment is just as sad as the rest but youโ€™ll find out soon

Every time I see LZ running to catch WWX it always breaks my heart and the fact LZ waited more than a decade for WWX and looked for him๐Ÿฅนโ˜น๏ธ๐Ÿ’•

Fun fact! In the donghua(aka anime) adaptation, Lan Zhanโ€™s whiplashes on his back are seen far more worse than the ones shown in โ€œThe Untamedโ€, so there are much more scars on his back that are more visible than in the live action. In the novel, the description of it is far more detailed as well (obviously, haha).

Little note : "Chibi version" it's basically when (in anime) characters are drawn small and chubby with oversized head and minimal detail. It's just pure cuteness overload when you see those little character. And The Untamed, as you know has many version, "Chibi version" included ๐Ÿ˜„

It's so crazy to remember the first few episodes when things were so simple. Just Wei Wuxian messing around, teasing Lan Zhan, getting in trouble, and more lol. Things were so good and then everything started becoming so painful. I'm happy that we've reached the end of the flashbacks for real. I love seeing Wei Wuxian in cloud recess because it always seems like that's when times are better and happier. It also just feels right to see Lan Zhan and Wei Ying back together. It's basically like seeing two halves or two soulmates return together. I can't imagine how painful it was for Lan Zhan for all those 16 years. In the scene where he's holding Wei Wuxian from falling, you can just see the pain and desperation in his eyes because he doesn't want to lose Wei Ying. Like imagine you live a life where you're emotionally repressed and then you meet this person who doesn't mind your cold exterior and still likes playing around with you anyways, you end falling in love with them, and because they're the only person you've ever felt that way with, they mean so much to you, and then you watch their life get worse and worse until it reaches a point where they're about to die and you catch them, but you're unable to save them and they die in front of you. Like those 16 years must've been the most painful years for Lan Zhan. As viewers of the show, it almost feels like we're in a happier place now, but the scars of the previous episodes causes the sadness to still linger a little bit. After the death of Yanli, Wei Wuxian felt like there was no place in the world for him anymore and that's just devastating. I also think it's super sad that Jiang Yanli died to protect Wei Ying and had no idea he would end up dying that same day. On the bright side, Wei Wuxian seems a little more at peace now that he's come back and I hope times are happier for him. Wangxian are one of my favorite couples in all of fiction. The details of all the untamed, novel, donghua, manhua, audio drama, etc., show their love so beautifully and it makes sense why the series got as huge as it did; a great action story and a great love story. The little details are so lovely.

Finally we get to see the juniors I missed them since the first two episodes, and also canโ€™t wait to see the interaction between Weiying and his nephew๐Ÿฅน. And should let you know that ep 35 has also muted part and missing sub in yt .

Fara75

Yeah lol, that would be crazy. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ Like the pain in his eyes was so real. ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Rai

No seriously. I always wondered about that. I mean, we all know that Yibo loves his motorbike, but to the point that he'd cry like that after losing it ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Armys_Fr๐Ÿ‰

No frl! Because I remember being so sad when I heard about the motorbike thing, but then when I found out the truth I was like โ€œoh thank godโ€ haha. Happy to let you know so we can both enjoy that he was actually imagining losing wei Ying and not his bike. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Rai

Now this is not sad at all, instead I'm happy that he actually imagine it was Wei Wuxian and not his motorbike ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ Thanks for telling me !! I would have think that he thought about his motorbike my whole life ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ

Armys_Fr๐Ÿ‰

Finally the flashback is over, it is time to have some adventures.

Feremusu Marah

Idk if this will make you sad or happy, but the director (I think it was him, it was someone who worked on the show) said that the motorbike thing was a joke and what he had actually told Wang Yibo was to imagine he was really losing his own Wei Wuxian. So his tears were genuine. ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜‚

Rai

Finally the flashback is over !!! Now you know everything about what happened 16 years ago. Isn't that crazy, how Jiang Cheng lost his entire family ? I mean, he lost his parents and a lot of his clan members + he lost both Yanli and Wei Wuxian the same day (even though Wei Wuxian came back 16 years later). But still, he had to take care of his clan and Jin Ling by himself, for 16+ years. He did all that alone. And the way Wei Wuxian actually let himself fall off that cliff because he knew that if Lan Zhan hold him longer than that, both Lan Zhan and Jiang Cheng would have fall too, so again, he decided to sacrifice himself. He's indeed so selfless. And he actually decided to kill himself, since he saw that life was not worth living anymore after seeing his sister die in front of him + he thought that Lan Zhan must hate him too. He didn't even realized that Lan Zhan was in front of him telling him to come back. And can we talk about the Jin Clan leader ??? He was there, saying "yeah we should take revenge and punished Wei Wuxian", but as soon as the war started, he just ran away with that dimple guy Jin Guanyao. I mean ???? He's always there talking talking, but he's never in a battlefield. And the way these cultivators, were always gossiping and saying yeah, Wei Wuxian is bad, Wei Wuxian should give away the Stygian tiger amulet because it's too powerful, blablabla. But as soon Wei Wuxian let go of the amulet, they were all killing each other just to get it. P A T H E T I C Anyway, I'm at peace now since the flashback end and Wei Wuxian was sooooo funny running away from the dog ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ I can't with him. Fun fact : the scene where Lan Zhan screamed Wei Ying when he fell off the cliff and he was in a shocking state and all, actually Wang Yibo asked the director how he can act in this scene, so, the director told him to pretend that it was his motorbike that fell off from that cliff. And that's how he managed to pull those expressions in this episode ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ I can't with him. I mean his motorbike is so precious to him ๐Ÿ˜ญ Now everytime I see that cliff scene, I can't help but cry for the actual scene, and cracking up seeing a motorbike instead of Wei Wuxian falling ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ Oh my !!! I'm sorry, my comment is way longer than usual ๐Ÿ˜… And thanks for the reaction ๐Ÿ’œ
