Splash Art Suggestions #01!

Hey everyone! We've got the first few splashes made already but we want to know which of our maps would you love to see a splash art of? Any map and any variation is fine!

Comments

Village Wainwright Shop, Beach Town

OnyxPanthyr

Banshee moor and the new dark forest edge one

Holy Pickle

I would love "generic" Enviroments, Tropical, Dungeon etc

Sven Uckermann

I would totally use the hell out of an exterior of the Vampire Mansion! I've run a game with a vampire mansion over 10 times now and going to a ton more!

Aidan

My vote is Ages of the Vale and all the other little vignette-piece places, like the Apiary, the Wainwright and the Blacksmith!

Aviyara

Banshee Moor Forgotten Chapel Graveyard

Gaël

Bandit camp in oasis sSttlement in a crystal cave

Beachside Bazaar Crossroads Bullywug Swamp

Tom Corrêa

City Marketplace Pirate Port Tavern City Streets

Neros Josh

One of "the court of justice" or "Hell's Tax Office" would be awesome!

Mich Bucanant

Dwarven Throne Room Fey Fountain TreeTop Dungeon

Kevin Vega

Chronic lighthouse and zen monastery!

Kailey McDonald

You may already be in luck with some of these!

Czepeku Scenes

You have released so many great maps that it's very difficult for me to nominate a favorite. So I go for my top 5 :) 1) City Marketplace (Day) 2) Windmill Farm (Day) 3) Some Cave Art (with mossy rocks or roots) 4) Colosseum of Challenges (Day) 5) Ropebridge Chasm (Day)

Sir Gawain

eldritch church and shadowfell

Siegfried Bosshart

I would love the "Grand Opera House"

Sephs Animated Art

Wow this is in depth! Thanks for putting the time in to throw in these suggestions!

Czepeku Scenes

some desert or hell map would be nice

Mich Bucanant

Eldritch Church definietly

Malthan

I'd love scenes of buildings in a medieval style fantasy city that was once beautiful but is now in a state of decay and infested with foul magic. I'm running a Dungeons of Drakkenheim game so this would be great to have and would also work in other settings.

Tanya Bowers-Dean

Green Dragon Lair is still one of my favourite maps from you, I use it whenever I can Giant Kitchen would be one of the maps I would love some silhouette heros climbing around to give a sense of scale (Dedicated maps featuring the monster fights from Heliana's would be so cool, assuming the go-ahead from everyone involved) Eldritch Church, come on, this was already on your list Depths of the Festerwood, another favourite map I love to use Bullywug Swamp, I would love to see how sticky and humid you could make the atmosphere feel Ancient Battlefield could really work well with the added verticality of walls and cover Lightning Rail, flying along a cliff face, enough to make the party hesitate before climbing onto the roof to execute their perfect heist Abyssal Fall, another perspective would help give real "depth" to the environment and help connect the two maps Alchemy Dungeon, this map encouraged me to crank my campaign story from a 6 to an 11 Megalith Gate, trapped in a demiplane by a litch. Nothing but rocks, sand, the empty void above, and a gateway with no key… unless… Forgotten Chapel Graveyard, I have plans for this as a centrepiece of a short campaign, just need to finish my current ones first Nymph Fountain, this would just look beautiful Beached Kraken, staring down the maw of the beast, it’s almost inviting Banshee Moor, another favourite, another with great atmosphere ----------- Naturally, this only a *small* sample of your amazing maps I would love to see as scene artwork

Mirriky

Hellfire Prison and Mountaintop Altar would be nice

Oliver Volland

Please Please Please Ages of the Vale. All of them, at least eventually.

Sol Vracken

How you play with light is just wonderful, I'd love to see the sandstone steppes and sandfalls of the blue dragon lair!

Richard Otte

Definitely! There'll definitely be underdark/underworld variants coming where they make sense too!

Czepeku Scenes

Liking this idea!

Czepeku Scenes

I think all the maps are choice. I would love to see an epic huge battle scene set at one of your locations as a splash screen.

Aaron Walser

Entering the Underdark (could relate to a few of the maps, potentially?)

Alex Duplessie

Oh damn. Yes that would be cool.

Czepeku Scenes

I'd love some splash art of the recently animated Void Dragon map, before as a void Egg and then after as the dragon emerges! Would be perfect to use as a last boss.

Scott Houlahan

dwarven throne hall!

schnoodle

Ooo Okay, this is a difficult decision but I am going to say the ones that I can genuinely see myself showing my party during our sessions instead of hoarding them to myself. 1.) The Bridge Town. I have a soft spot for this one because I created a whole homebrew city around it. 2.) The Mountain Monastery. I mean, come on, it's beautiful! 3.) The Oni Hideout. Finding art with rice paddy fields that I can use is just so rare. Your Oni Hideout map is the best I have come across. Expanding upon it would be a real treat. 4.) Riverwood Toll Castle. This one is one of my all-time favorites. I always seem to find a way to use it one way or another. 5.) Solar Cathedral. It would look amazing! Being able to show off more angles to bring the setting all together would blow my players away. Honorable Mentions: Any of the Throne Halls, Hanging Gardens, Abyssal Fall, and the Ancient Battlefield

Savian

1. You guys are building the village one building type at a time (blacksmith, wainwright, etc), which is amazing, so an approach to the village at various states of growth would be amazing. Early in a campaign only having one building or two, and later having a fully lived in village would be really fun. 2. I could see the Beach Town, Floating Market, and River Stronghold all being part of a single city/stronghold/town. Maybe doing one large overall image that shows an approach to said city, and then from the overall zooming in and showing specific scenes for each of those. I'm imagining a view from across a bay/beach that shows the beach town map terraced walls, with the road the camera is on approaching the river stronghold gate, and then narratively it would be easy to say the Floating market is where the river passes through town. 3. I would really love to see an exterior for the Great Library. 4. There are a handfull of mines/caves that would benefit from an intriguing cave or mining entry. The variations might fit different scenes like the Mushroom infested Mines, Cavern of the Venom Queen, Blacksmith Secret Grotto, Bone Mill Lair, etc. 5. So many of your maps are incredibly evocative in their own right, and I can't wait to see imagery for the specific ones, but maybe there's a way to group the imagery in ways that you could cover multiple of your maps at the same time. Very excited!

Sam Kahle

Nightmare dragon lair would be amazing. Or perhaps Pirate Lord's Lair!

TK

Definitely!

Czepeku Scenes

Oh we hadn't thought of this actually!

Czepeku Scenes

I love the idea of iconic cityscapes that precede adventures in City Rooftop Chase, City Marketplace, or some of the other city-based tactical maps.

Olaf Gradin

Megalith Gate, beautiful piece

Ethan Laabs

Alchemy Dungeon or another ruin-like map

Will

Hellfire citadel

Moises Flores

Ruins, city streets/ schools/shops

Liveeverysecond

Bullywug village would be fantastic!

Derrick Gil

For sure.

Czepeku Scenes

You'll be happy soon enough then! We may already have some!

Czepeku Scenes

Hey we agree! I'm sure we can do some of those at some point!

Czepeku Scenes

I know this might be a big ask, but I would love to have scenes of the lightning rails. It's quite hard to find scenes like this on the internet as a whole, but I do understand that it might be a bit niche ? I'm trying to think about stuff that is hard to find by googling/searching the internets.

Carothia

Agreed with Anduriel! I would love some desert themed splash arts, but also I'm excited to see what else you create :)

Kabu

Would love djinn gardens, beachside bazaar, beach town... any desert ones basically lol <3

Anduriel Pontiff

Alchemy Dungeon please!

Benedict Geddes

Us too!!!

Czepeku Scenes

I’d love to see splash art for any of the monastery maps or anything icy/wintery ❄️

Cuppa Teafling

We hear you!

Czepeku Scenes

another thought: the splash art most difficult to find for me is usually mundane scenes: a prison hallway, a noble's private quarters, ship docks, a small grove in a forest. I think there's a lot of art showing grand sweeping vistas, but sometimes we need a more intimate and humble-feeling environments

Aisa

Got it! It's our pleasure!!!

Czepeku Scenes

I'm a big fans of Dwarfs, so i would love to see more Mines, Mountains and Dwarf Throne Rooms <3 Thank you for the amazing maps!

Niklas Bär

Oh the Throne Room/Palace will definitely be getting some attention!

Czepeku Scenes

Us too!

Czepeku Scenes

I'm glad to see more scenes about forest, especially those with ancient temples.

I'm a huge fan of all the cathedrals, throne rooms, etc.

Blanché

We have at least 1 desert themed image incoming in February!

Czepeku Scenes

Some of those will definitely be coming!

Czepeku Scenes

It’s something we’ll think about depending on how this goes but there’s always the option that we can do the occasional outer space piece!

Czepeku Scenes

Running Desert campaign so would love to see those scenes :P

Ogo Sylla

I'm running a Greek campaign, so I'd love to see splash art of any of the following: greek-looking temples, islands, underwater scenes, harpy cove, nymph fountain, minotaur labyrinth, etc.

Aisa

Slightly off topic: Will Hyperdrive fleet get splash art?

Alex J Waddington

Ooh yes that would be fun actually!

Czepeku Scenes

It would be awesome to see splash art of the Void Dragon's lair!

Sergio Silvestre

Both of those are a must for us too!

Czepeku Scenes

I would absolutely love to see splashes of your villages, but also forest scenes.

Jason Witt

Thank you! There will definitely be some of those incoming!

Czepeku Scenes

Honestly I'd be happy with just about anything ya'll can think of. I'm running an adventure module (Dragonlance) for the first time since I started homebrewing and world building years ago, so anything forest or wastes related could be helpful but will take literally anything ya'll come up with

Alfredo Gallardo

We'll see what we can do!

Czepeku Scenes

Ooooh yes

Czepeku Scenes

You may be in look with some of those fairly soon!

Czepeku Scenes

Nymph Fountain would be awesome! Running a Witchlight campaign right now where I would use it.

vvulfmann

Colossus Port! Give the players a true sense of scale!

John Olsen

I would love to see some of the city market/street/ rooftops or any of the more urban maps.

Paul O'Grady

We agree! That's on our personal hit list!

Czepeku Scenes

Oni Hideout, would be wonderful!

Toastrel

Ditto to this. Celestial Gate is my favorite map and I find a way to incorporate it into all of my campaigns. Last time it showed up it was part of a ritual whereby a person danced in the center to get the rings moving to amplify and project a spell across the continent.

Macray

You may be in luck soon!

Czepeku Scenes

The Celestial Gate I believe its called. Would be cool to have some splash art for it as its a gorgeous map

Nikoloz Elbakidze

Fair! Hanging Gardens will definitely be coming soon!

Czepeku Scenes

Hanging gardens or the Nymph fountain would be really cool to see in splash art form. Cityscapes and skylines are in my wishlist too, basically any map with a good skyline.

Vahn Pyre

A lot of people really want the Court of Justice! I reckon that will do well in the upcoming poll!

Czepeku Scenes

Always. You can count on plenty of those coming with time!

Czepeku Scenes

Agreed, we definitely feel the same way. We want to have a mix of very re-usable content, but also the cool, fun stuff too!

Czepeku Scenes

Wow you've really thought this through! Some of those are definitely already on our hit list too. Thanks for the suggestions!

Czepeku Scenes

Any of the variations of the eldritch church would be very cool. Colosseum, magic forest, and any of the airships or the dock for them, the dragon lairs, the beached kraken and the megalith gate would also all be interesting. Just in general though, beyond the particularly grand or extra cool options, any of the scenes which are part of cities or towns would probably be the most likely to be useful to the most people as set-pieces, like the palaces and various throne rooms, the churches and cathedrals, the opera house and so on. Such places are less likely to see inevitable combat and more likely to just be places that are being visited, and will tend to appear in many many campaigns at some point or other, so splash art of them would be consistently useful.

Ihileath

A few off the top of my head... Adventurer's Guildhall and Riverwood Toll Castle. Both are perfect player bases, would be nice to have something to show the players beyond a map. Any of the ages of the Vale inns. All good adventurers start in an inn, lets give the players a nice mood setting art piece for session 0-to-1! A nice moody haunted saloon. Some night time version of the Forest Shrine Festival or Monster Festival with some magical fireworks going off above would be a pretty amazing way to set a scene. Drow Manor. Honestly I could use that one soon and might have to do it myself :) Just this underdark stalagmite castle poking up beside an underground lake (a lake that neatly links it to cavern of the venom queen!) The Mountain Top observatory looming from its mountain peak would again be nice. Temple of the Couatl peeking above the jungle. A view from below of the Floating Castle hovering ominously amidst the clouds (a la the original Star Trek episode cloud minders) perfect for setting it up as an impossible-to-reach fortress of your mid-campaign foe! Windmill Farm is almost aching to be a campaign starter splash screen And how about the exterior of thieve's guild hideout which would double for any city location.

Unwated Arcana

The Court of Justice!

Jamie Simpson

Honestly, I'm mostly looking for environment art right now. Pretty or interesting wilderness concept art to show to my players. And, of course, some good tavern splashes

Jane B.

Agreed!

Czepeku Scenes

Rope Bridge Chasm is one that I think gets way more tense to see illustrated

Elizabeth Hartley

We’ll definitely be releasing generic scenes as well as specific ones!

Czepeku Scenes

Don’t worry! It’s not selfish to request something that would be useful for you!

Czepeku Scenes

Yes! We don’t plan on purely doing Czepeku Maps either. Our plan is to also release some content that will be more generic for use in any campaign.

Czepeku Scenes

That’s a personal favourite of ours too! Let us see what we can do…

Czepeku Scenes

That would be fun!

Czepeku Scenes

Some of those may already be in progress 👀

Czepeku Scenes

That’s lovely to hear thank you! Medusa’s Wake is high on our list already too but Monster Festival would be a lot of fun too!!!

Czepeku Scenes

I'll ditto the Alchemy RPG stuff. So keen to use the upcoming scenes with it!

ThroatyPigeon

I want to say all of your maps are beautiful! I love all of them, but the Beach Town Map has been my and my players' favorite. Beach episodes have been up there in favorite sessions, and it'd be awesome to see it turned into a scene to see the character's perspective.

JV

Seeing the Astral Well Night or Projection variations of the Celestial Gate map from the perspective of one of the characters would be epically amazeballs.

Hero Ngauv

Sometimes one of your maps makes me want to bring my players to something that doesn't even make sense in the story just so I can use one of your maps (I waited a year before I was able to show them Zen Monastery; they LOVED it). Then I used two versions of Secret Fey Fountain for the two-stage final boss! Anyway… one of the maps I've been itching to use is Medusa's Wake. Another is Monster Festival.

ZorkFox

I'd be keen to see some splash for natural scenes like the Fairy Fountain, Mountain Logging Camp, Tomb of Sand, Ropebridge Chasm, etc

BeeGneiss

New patron. Great assets for Alchemy RPG. Interested in all work but to start mostly hoping for a few 'general' packages, maybe connected to some maps you've made, of basic 'town' or 'dungeon' items to get rolling.

Omnic

(Selfishly, since I run a "floating islands" setting) The Gryphon Roost Inn, and anything else with islands!

Fox Lee

I'm very interested in art for any maps that go together (i.e. a splash for the village series, generic airship splash, generic underwater or desert splash, etc.) I'm not sure if that goes against the idea, but sounds cool! I'm also just excited for whatever x)

Max Kriegel

We'll see what we can do!

Czepeku Scenes

You're amazing! 😁

Sophie Richau

Maybe an exterior of the Eldritch Church would be fun!

Czepeku Scenes

Thanks! Those will definitely be considered!

Czepeku Scenes

Ooooh some lovely suggestions there. Thanks!

Czepeku Scenes

The Grand Opera House and the Eldritch Church

Alex Duplessie

Age of the Vail or the Bathhouse would be nice.

Kira Dest

I've used the Imperial Graveyard and Tomb of Sand in games already (to GREAT acclaim) and would love to be able to show my players a more first-person perspective. But I also plan to use Mountaintop Altar and Eldritch Church (the Tesseract version) in the future. But also, Court of Justice and Colosseum of Challenges might be the coolest to see splashes of, imo.

E Sawchak

Awesome! I also just loooove the green dragon lair map. 😅

Cheryl

Thank you! Also yes we’ll definitely be creating one for the Elder Brain Lair at some point!

Czepeku Scenes

Dwarven Throne Hall is a great call! We will also be creating generic locations too that can be used for travel/camping scenes.

Czepeku Scenes

We’ll see what we can do!

Czepeku Scenes

Interesting! Elder Brain is a must too for us!

Czepeku Scenes

Yes! Good call!

Czepeku Scenes

I'd love to see the Elder Brain Sanctum or Mushroom Infested Mines. The most reusable ones for me would be Ages of the Vale or the lightning rail, they're super practical.

Trax

Imperial Graveyard

Tsire Divyn

The Elder Brain Lair would be amazing to have splash art for. I'm really excited for this new project. <3

Daroneasa

I'd love the Dwarven Throne Hall, too! And the Green Dragon Lair for a versatile forest location.

Cheryl

Some great suggestions there too!

Czepeku Scenes

Thank you so much! We certainly intend to maintain that quality!

Czepeku Scenes

👀👀👀👀

Heather

You may be in luck 👀

Czepeku Scenes

No idea which splashes were made already, but I'd love to see the dwarven throne hall or hell's tax office, though if I'd have to settle with one, it would probably be the latter. Also really looking forward to this, been a patron of your main account since February 2019 and am always happy to jump on any new fantasy project you start up, because the quality you deliver is simply out of this world.

Mitsu

Something for the Wonderful Wizard Waterfall would be cool 😊

Heather

I'm currently using the Crystal Veil in a Spelljammer campaign and it would be amazing to have som splash art for it
