IMO ,I don't think Joe was scared of Em,but i think ,he knew he was wrong in most of his claims(Em owe us money(SH),been better than you 🤦♀️,worst song i ever heard etc.).So he used the"I'm retired" line so he doesn't have to answear Em. Also imagine how weird of a position the rest of the SH would have been.
