2023-01-12 04:08:31 +0000 UTCIf you enjoyed seeing John Travolta as a woman, than you ABSOLUTELY must see "To Wong Foo, Thanks For Everything, Julie Newmar" it starts Patrick Swayze, John Leguizamo and Wesley Snipes as 3 drag queens who go on a road trip to a drag competition and get stranded in a very small town. All 3 actors look AMAZING in drag!! It's one of my favorite movies.

2022-05-26 05:34:22 +0000 UTCi know it didn’t win the polls, but if you ever plan on watching dear evan hansen PLEASE find a bootleg of it to watch first before the movie adaptation!!! it is a really good movie but they DEFINITELY changed a Lot of it to be more palatable for hollywood typical larger audiences. the way the musical depicts severe mental illness is harsh but is absolutely 100% realistic, and in the movie they dropped the severity of it by like at least half (because hollywood is always scared of being “too realistic” or “too harsh” or “too much” of anything), which upsets me a lot as someone that really could relate to the severity of the choices they make due to their struggles. in the movie evan is honestly a MUCH easier character to hate because of how much they dropped the severity of his own mental illnesses and childhood and past experiences, and in turn they made connor much easier to like by changing his childhood and past life experiences, which is what is most upsetting to me. if you need a good bootleg (the ones on youtube aren’t super great) i have an entire google drive folder full of them and can totally offer some links!! most big deh fans probably have the same links from the folder, it’s pretty widespread among the right groups of fans. this was a phenomenal video, i can’t wait to see what musical you choose to do next !!!

2021-12-01 07:45:48 +0000 UTCI'm so glad you reacted to this. I actually haven't watched it in sooo long. I'm not a Nikki Blonsky (who played Tracy) fan. There was a lot of like drama with her or something. Also, she like became sorta obsessed with Zac afterwards (us Zanessa fans didn't like her lol). So, I think that held me back from watching it more often but I wanted to check out your reaction to it. But anyways, everyone else in the movie I love. Zac (obviously), James Marsden (Corny Collins who was also in 27 Dresses, Enchanted, The Notebook, and so many others), Brittany Snow (Amber), Michelle Pfieffer (Amber's mom [she's another big star along with Travolta and Walken]), John Travolta (are you seriously telling me you never seen Grease???? You need to watch that), Elijah (Seaweed [he was my favorite character]), Queen Latifah, and Christopher Walken. I was obssessed with Amanda Bynes back in the day. With All That, The Amanda Show, What A Girl Wants, What I Like About You. Obsessed. So she sorta had a public breakdown a couple years ago. She retired from acting after she did Easy A and hasn't been the same since. The last I heard, though, was she was doing well and she's going to fashion school and might do some acting again. I hope she does. I miss her on the screen. Great reaction! But seriously, you need to watch Grease (especially before you watch Grease: LIVE [if you do that one]). High School Musical was considered our generation's Grease. Basically the same storyline. Two people meet on vacation and then run into each other at school. Great music. John Travolta kills it as Danny. Definitely recommend.

You’ll love the story behind the musical, it’s about the kindness of a Canadian town that took in diverted passengers during 9/11, it’s very heartfelt. Idk I just get the vibe that you share a lot of the morals that the show does. 💓 Thank you for this reaction, it’s nice watching musicals with someone even if it’s through a screen :)

2021-11-27 04:27:34 +0000 UTCI’m going to try to answer some of your questions while watching, so sorry if this gets long. The original Hairspray movie isn’t a musical, but the plot is the same. Years after it came out it was adapted for Broadway as a musical, then this movie got made a few years later. There’s also a live version of the stage show that aired on TV called Hairspray Live. Most musicals are pretty much like this one where the music is broken up with actual scenes of dialogue. The amount of songs differs form one show to the next. Somewhere between 15-20 songs is the average that I’ve noticed for movie musicals that were adapted from Broadway shows, but then there are some that are sung all the way through, like Les Miserbles or Hamilton. There are two traditions for Hairspray: Tracy is always played by an unknown actress, and Edna is always played by a man—this started because the role was originated by the drag queen Divine in the movie from the 80s. I love this cast, even the small roles are perfectly cast. Obviously Zac is great, and one of my favorite actors, but I think Queen Latifah kind of steals the show in this one. She’s also great in the movie version of the musical Chicago.
