Frozen | Full Movie Reaction

Do you plan to react to the 2nd one? I love this movie, but I always hear people act like Anna was the best character and the only one who had to overcome being isolated while growing up and treat Elsa like she was just a horrible person and sister. Like, their parents were the bad guys here. After being told that fear would be her enemy, and promising to teach her to control it, they do the exact opposite, they separate the sisters, close off the palace from the rest of the kingdom (and the kingdom from the rest of the world) and teach Elsa to be ashamed and afraid of her powers and to do everything possible to just repress them. And to make it worse the Parents never even gave Anna an excuse, they just allowed her to believe that Elsa just cut her off on her own, to increase the wedge they shoved between the sisters. Also, both times Anna got hurt by Elsa's powers were mostly Anna's fault.

Elsa didn’t tNOT feel love, but if you pay attention to the first encounter with the trolls he tells her that fear will be her enemy. So became so fearful of her own power that she became her own worst enemy. Instead of learning to use the power properly she was just deathly afraid.

Frozen 2 is a must watch!! Also Elsa as a character is known or “coded” as being autistic, which is is super cool to think about. She is a savant/ possesses these gifts that make her talented but extremely isolated. The whole premise of let it go, “conceal, don’t feel, put on a show” is what autistic people do everyday when they mask their behavior to fit into society. Thinking about it in this respect gives the film an entirely new meaning (especially in Frozen 2!!!!!!)

Everyone was pretty shocked at Hans. I saw it three times in theatres when it came out (long story) and every time the whole theatre's reaction at the reveal was like "GAAASSP!" audible shock. i feel like you'd really enjoy abc's rendition of frozen in once upon a time! the show can be a little underwhelming at times but genuinely has some of the best versions of fairytales imo (shout out to LRRH)

I thought frozen 2 was even prettier than the first one, so give that a go when you get the chance. i have to say rewatching this for the first time in years - i really wept for elsa. my ocd got so bad after the pandemic that it hurts to see someone isolate themselves due to living in a permanent state of anxiety. resonated with me in a way that it didnt on first watch.

I do agree Kristoff is a great guy... I really liked Flynn's character though they developed his character really well and the why he acted that way... So Flynn acted with those tropes for very logical and human reasons so why not great was real he was wanted people to like him... I loved his whole backstory 💜

The way I see it, Elsa has always felt love, but fear clouded her judgment and made her extremely insecure. I don’t think she intended for the snow monster to be as dangerous as it was. And I think Elsa realized the power that her love holds at the end, and she hadn’t before because her parents didn’t encourage her to learn to harness her power, only to suppress it. It was a breakout Disney film because it’s the first film where romantic love isn’t the finale, familial love was the saving grace, which is why I think there was so much hype. It’s definitely not my favorite Disney Princess film, but it’s up there. Moana is incredible by the way, if you’re up for it I bet a ton of us would love to see your reaction, especially since you loved Hamilton!

Just another one of your reactions that I thoroughly enjoyed! Thank you. I understand your point of view on Elsa and how she seems like the selfish one but when I first saw the movie, I felt for her. Shutting everyone out, not expressing anything to anyone because you think that'll only make things worse, seeing yourself as the problem essentially. Been there, done that. Anxiety and depression you see. Also, another thing that made me love this movie was, that love was portrayed through sisters. It was not a damsel in distress, saved by a man. They gave true love a different meaning and importance in a Disney movie. I don't think a whole lot of that was happening in 2013 anyway. I absolutely love Disney and they introduced a new relationship which made me love them more. I have an older sister too, and we have the best relationship so that's also probably why it hit home, harder. Anyway, would love to watch you react to 'Coco' or as I like to say looking forward to watching another movie with you. I absolutely love that film! Cheers and have a great week :)

When I saw this I was like “oh this is good he’s doing this before hsmtmts. You’ll see why it’s a good thing. Also you should listen to what do you know about love from frozen the broadway musical bc that’s in hsmtmts. There’s 8 episodes this season and we get episode 6 Wednesday so as for right now there’s no other songs from the broadway version that they’ve done but I recommend listening to kristoffs lullaby bc they may sing it in the show and also it ties into what do you know about love. ALSO hsmtmts is doing frozen for the musical and also hsm and camp rock songs and original songs. You should also do the decendants movies which were made by the creator of the hsm movies and Julie and the phantoms. Kenny Ortega is so great. Also Cameron Boyce is in the movies and he passed away in 2019 at 20. He was such a beloved Disney actor. We all had grown up watching him and he was so talented and incredible and a great person. I think you’d really enjoy at least the first 2 movies.

oh yay! im only halfway through this so far so this comment might be completely unnecessary haha but idk i just wanted to vent for a sec? this has been my favorite animated movie (now along with the sequal) ever since it came out when i was younger. i could always deeply relate to elsa in so many different ways, mainly with me having undiagnosed adhd and autism at the time, being closeted, struggling with mental illnesses, trauma stuff ext.. things like being scared to show yourself (pun unintended haha) and having to conceal parts of yourself in order not to hurt others, which ultimately just creates more problems (lashing out ext...). and then that turns into extreme guilt, and the cycle continues. with the only solution being to shut off from those i cared about the most (incl family and friends) in order to not hurt them and then feeling guilty because i felt like i was a bad person for it. i know this is obviously extremely difficult to relate to if you dont have the same experiences and im not angry or sad or anything haha, its just hard to write this without making it sound like this is more serious than i mean it to be lmao. i just wanted to highlight it and share my experiences because i understand your feelings toward elsa, its just everytime you start calling else a horrible sister or something similar i can just feel elsas pain for a second 😅 this comment is probably a nightmare to follow, so sorry haha i just wanted to write things out quickly but anyways i would love for a frozen 2 reaction! if you thought this one was beautiful just get ready for it :) side note - as i was re-reading this i just relised you wouldnt even get the pun i wrote "pun untintended" for yet anyways... so... oops 😭

My thoughts on the Frozen hype: I think it was largely due to younger kids enjoying Frozen so much. Plenty of grown people enjoy Frozen as well, but Frozen was a unbelievable hit with children, so much merch came from it, and the force of kids loving it so much and having their parents buy stuff and watch it was super powerful. From my point of view, I think many grown people enjoy Frozen 2 even more than the first, which I agree with! Additionally, I think more grown people prefer Tangled over Frozen— kind of the other end of the spectrum from Frozen, for some reason haha. I also love Tangled so much. I’m not sure if you will watch, but I definitely back up all previous comments to watch Frozen 2. I think it’s a wonderful sequel. Disney movies never seems to land with quality sequels, so Frozen is definitely unique in that aspect as well. Also, you had me dead laughing at thinking Sven was a moose and all your other commentary! A fun watch with you, for sure. Cant wait for HSMTMTS, and more GoT and ST4! Besides Frozen II, there are actually three Frozen shorts: Frozen Fever, Once Upon a Snowman, and Olaf's Frozen Adventure. Olaf's Frozen Adventure is Christmas themed. Fun Fact: Veronica Mars fans are called Marshmallows! It's probably just a coincidence, but it hit me while watching this time around that Kristin Bell's fans get a little shout out. 😃

i think this movie was as big as it was because it was about sisterly love rather than a classic disney love story so it felt new and fresh at the time! i’m with you though tangled is far superior :) definitely check out frozen 2 when you have the chance, the animation is even more gorgeous & the music is even better!! i also recommend checking out a bootleg (search frozen slime tutorial on youtube lol) of the frozen broadway musical!! there are additional songs added & more depth, i literally cried the second the show started when i saw it live a few months ago because the energy of the broadway version is so palpable!

Oh hell yeah his name is Marshmallow! Fun fact, our teacher used him as an example in psychology class for conflicting emotions! It’s so cool to think about how Marshmallow and Olaf are alike- created by the relationship of Elsa and Anna, one made of love to bring them together and the other made of fear to bring them apart. Both are trying to care for Anna in their own way.

Elsa is such an interesting character to me because this movie has no villain and she can very easily take that place with a lot of her actions & behaviors, even calling them unknowing. Kind of reminds me of an x-men child that could go good or bad. I think when they re-wrote it they kept alot of those elements in. It comes together really nicely at the end with love being the way to control it & I really like that. I hope you watch the second because I haven’t seen it!

It’s not that obvious though. Elsa was very close to be written as a villain, and for a good reason. She’s not a monster, but she’s hurting people. What I love about the movie is that they show us that support and compassion can help recover from that.

Love this movie! I didn't love it the first time a watched it, but it became one of my complete favourites upon rewatching. It cleverly subverts a lot of tropes. The fact that the act of true love is sisterly love and also Anna basically saved herself is amazing. The Hans twist is great and really quite unexpected and I appreciate them making fun of the love at first sight/marrying someone you just met trope. The second movie is also amazing, and Kristoff's "ballad" Lost in the Woods (sung by the incredible Jonathan Groff) had me cry-laughing at the cinema, it's so ridiculous in the best way.

I love these movies! The second one is my favorite actually, it's a bit slower but I feel it's deeper. Also, Elsa was first pitched to be the villain and not Anna's sister. She was meant to be portrayed more like the evil snow queen from Hans Christian Andersen's original tale (Catch where Hans' name came from? And maybe the variation for Kristoff too). But they ended up rewriting the whole story. The Disney ride in Epcot is amazing, though instead of a sled, you ride on a boat through a water path.

I love the concept that the key to controlling Elsa's powers is love. It wasn't until she got scared of her powers that they became uncontrollable. She was kicking straight ass when playing with Anna when she accidentally froze Anna's head.... which again, happened because she was scared because Anna was going too fast. Once she didn't fear her powers and herself, she had absolute control of her powers.

Sven is a reindeer! They say it lots of times but you keep missing it haha. It’s set in Norway and the fjords are the Norwegian Fjords. It’s a Viking word that is a long, deep, narrow body of water. The Norwegian Fjords are stunning and a popular cruise destination in Europe 🙂
